    • A brush holder assembly for an electrical motor includes a brush box including a main body and a cover portion, the main body with a cavity and including a set of first arms extending in opposition from the main body. The cover portion includes a set of second arms extending in opposition from the cover portion, and a set of projections extending in opposition to one another from the cover portion. Each of the set of first arms and a respective one of the set of second arms define a channel therebetween sized to receive a portion of a sleeve of the electric motor. The assembly also includes a cover that is coupled to the cover portion of the brush box, a brush located in the cavity of the brush box, and a spring positioned against the brush to force the brush towards a commutator of the electric motor.

    • A two speed direct current electric motor comprising: an armature having a commutator assembly that is adapted to receive an electromotive force to cause the armature to operatively rotate. A brush assembly having a common brush and a low-speed brush is disposed about and in electrical communication with the commutator to provide a first electromotive force to cause the armature to provide a low-speed rotational output. The brush assembly further includes a high-speed brush having a convex shaped end in physical and electrical communication with the commutator to provide a second electromotive force to cause the armature to provide a high-speed rotational output. The convex shaped end of the high-speed brush is further adapted to wear to take the shape of the commutator such that as the high-speed brush wears the high-speed rotational output decreases.

    • A spring device includes of a coil spring case formed of right, left, back and front side plates and a spring receiving plate, a coil spring having a liner spring property, and a spring urging member for urging the coil spring into the coil spring case. A distance between the right and left side plates of the spring case is set a little larger than an outer diameter of the coil spring. A distance between the back and front side pates of the spring case is set about 1.5 to 2 times larger than the outer diameter of the coil spring, and a length of the spring case is set smaller than a free length of the coil spring. The coil spring is deformed and a non-linear spring property is obtained when the coil spring is urged through the spring urging member.

    • The brush holding device includes a brush holder having a brush-housing chamber, and a holder plate to which the brush holder is attached. The holder plate is formed with a center hole at a center portion thereof, the center hole having a size allowing a commutator to path therethrough, and a pair of elongated holes opposing to each other with respect to the opening portion, the elongated holes defining bridge portions with the opening hole. The brush holder has a thick-wall portion integral with a bottom wall of the brush-housing chamber, the thick-wall portion being formed with fitting grooves at lateral sides thereof. The bridge portions are inserted into the fitting grooves so that the brush holder is fitted to the holding plate in such a state that the thick-wall portion is caught between the bridge portions.
