摘要： In some examples, a computing device may receive (i) settings associated with one or more features of a basic input output system (BIOS) of the computing device and (ii) a device identifier that uniquely identifies the computing device. The computing device may determine a policy identifier that identifies a policy being implemented by the settings associated with the one or more features of the BIOS. The computing device may retrieve a public key associated with an organization that acquired the computing device and sending a request to a service to validate the policy. The request may include the policy identifier and the public key. After the computing device receives a response from the service indicating that the policy is valid, the computing device may initiate a reboot and modify, during the reboot, the one or more features of the BIOS of the computing device based on the settings.

摘要： Virtual media device network communication is improved with a media filter that reduces unnecessary non-media access commands, such as test unit ready commands, that have an enhanced impact on data transfer rates when media devices communicate over a network. The media filter withholds communication of selected non-media information by a remote access controller associated with a virtual media device and generates simulated responses to the withheld communication for return to the virtual media device. In one embodiment, predetermined non-media access commands are withheld from communication to a network unless a timeout timer is expired. The timeout timer is set for a time period that precludes a media change between timeout timer expirations and is reset with successful response to a command through the network.

摘要： In some examples, a server may receive an order from a customer to acquire a computing device. The server may determine a customer and a customer location associated with the order and determine a documentation specification based at least in part on the customer and the customer location. The server may determine content identifiers corresponding to content (e.g., documentation and software) to be provided with the order. The server may associate a device identifier that uniquely identifies the computing device with the content identifiers. The computing device may be shipped to the customer location without the plurality of content. When the computing device is booted at the customer location, the computing device may send the device identifier to the server, the server may determine the plurality of content identifiers associated with the device identifier, and send the plurality of content in a digital form for installation on the computing device.
