    • A dielectric resonator is constructed so as to have a substantially cruciform shape in cross section by including four plate components. A first set of opposed plate components have respective first principal center planes separated from each other and substantially parallel with each other. A second set of opposed plate components also have respective second principal center planes separated from each other and substantially parallel with each other. The first principal center planes are orthogonal to the second principal center planes. With this configuration, a TE01δy mode in which an electric-field vector rotates within the first set of opposed plate components and a TE01δz mode in which an electric-field vector rotates within the second set of opposed plate components are coupled.

    • A radio frequency (RF) cavity resonator having a resonator chamber and one or more RF coupling loop assemblies is presented. The RF coupling loop assembly has a connector with a first connector interface coupled to an inner conductor and a second connector interface coupled to an outer conductor, the first and second connector interfaces forming a pair when mated, the second connector interface rotatable about a collinear axis of the connector and the first connector interface not rotatable about the collinear axis of the connector; a wire loop coupler; and a bandwidth selection element at least partially coupled to the coupling loop assembly. In response to changing the bandwidth selection setting while the RF cavity resonator is operational, the wire loop changes orientation about the collinear axis of the connector and causes the RF resonator chamber to output an RF carrier signal having a bandwidth of the new bandwidth setting.

    • In a filter module, a common input/output portion of a switch circuit is set as a first port. A first filter arranged to pass a signal in a first frequency band is connected between a first input/output portion of the switch circuit and a second port. A second filter arranged to pass a signal in a second frequency band is connected between a second input/output portion and the second port. A phase adjusting circuit is provided such that an impedance in the second frequency band as seen from the first port while the switch circuit selects the first input/output portion is in a substantially short-circuited state. This arrangement prevents leakage of unwanted signals from a signal path used in a communication system not in operation among two communication systems for different frequency bands while the other communication system is engaged in communication.

    • A dielectric device includes a dielectric substrate and a resonator unit. The resonator unit includes first and second holes. The first hole opens on a first surface of the dielectric substrate and extends toward a second surface opposite to the first surface. A first internal conductor is provided inside the first hole. The second hole opens on a third surface of the dielectric substrate, extends toward a fourth surface opposite to the third surface, and is connected to the first hole. A second internal conductor is provided inside the second hole with one end connected to an external conductor film on the third surface and the other end connected to the first internal conductor. The first hole has a recess opposed to a junction with the second hole. The first internal conductor in the recess is opposed to the external conductor film on the fourth surface across the dielectric substrate.

    • A dual mode antenna switch module (ASM) comprises a UMTS TX port; a UMTS RX port; and a UMTS duplexer, comprising a common port, a TX port coupled to the UMTS TX port and an RX port coupled to the UMTS RX port. The ASM further comprises an antenna port; at least one GSM TX port; and at least one GSM RX port. A multi-port switch has respective ports coupled to the antenna port, the at least one GSM TX port, the at least one GSM RX port, and the common port of said UMTS duplexer. The common port of said duplexer has a reflection co-efficient at said connected multi-port switch port with a magnitude in the range 0.8 to 1.0 and with a phase, −210° φ+n×360 −150° where n is an integer.
