    • The food product machine with a food supply, a rotary food pump connected to the food supply, a molding mechanism having a mold plate and a knockout drive, and a mold plate reciprocating between a fill and a discharge position. The knockout drive reciprocates a knockout plunger to discharge molded food products from the mold plate, the mold plate being reciprocated between a cavity fill position and a cavity discharge position. The machine includes a manifold connected an outlet of the food pump and having an outlet passageway connected to an inlet of the molding mechanism for filling the cavity of the mold plate. The machine can further include a fill plunger system for increasing the fill pressure of the food mass prior to filling the mold cavities. Plungers extend into the manifold to displace food mass volume and increase the pressure in the manifold.

    • Systems, apparatuses, and methods for forming and texturing a comestible product are provided. In one aspect a machine includes a product hopper adapted to receive comestible product, and a product forming and texturing assembly. The assembly includes a plate defining a product opening therein, and a texturing unit coupled to the plate and including a plurality of projections extending therefrom into the product opening to form indentations in comestible product positioned in the product opening The machine also includes a knock-out mechanism adapted to engage comestible product positioned in the product opening in order to dislodge the comestible product from the product opening. The assembly is moveable between a first position, in which comestible product is adapted to be introduced into the product opening from the product hopper, and a second position, in which the knock-out mechanism is adapted to engage the comestible product positioned in the product opening.

    • A food handling system having a positioning system and method. The positioning system includes a main conveying surface, an electronic sensor, a controller and a robot. The main conveying surface is configured to move food products. The electronic sensor is configured to capture position data about one or more food products on the main conveying surface within a sensor range of the sensor. The controller is signal-connected to the electronic sensor and the robot. The controller is configured to receive data captured by the sensor and is configured to instruct the robot to move a food product to a destination position. The robot is configured to reposition one or more food products on the conveying surface according to instructions sent by the controller. The robot has a longitudinal and a lateral working range.     • A drive system reciprocates a mold plate between a cavity fill position and a patty discharge position, and can also reciprocate knock out plungers to discharge molded food patties from cavities in the mold plate at the patty discharge position. This drive system includes a first electric motor; a first rotary-to-linear motion converting apparatus operatively connected to the first electric motor; at least one drive member operatively connected between the first rotary-to-linear motion converting apparatus and the mold plate to reciprocate the mold plate. The drive system can also include a second electric motor; a second rotary-to-linear motion converting apparatus operatively connected to the second electric motor; and at least one knock out member operatively connected between the second rotary-to-linear motion converting apparatus and the knock out plungers, to reciprocate the knock out plungers. The first and second motors are precisely controlled to control and synchronize the movements of the mold plate and knock out plungers. The drive system can also include a control over a plurality of valves in a mold plate breather air pumping system.
