    • A stabilized nano-Fe6-iron-crown ether complex is formed by preparing a solution of an iron salt and an oligomer crown compound in dialkylamine or diethylamine. Sodium tetrahydroboron (NaBH4) and dialkylamine or ethylendiamine are added at a temperature of 0-10° C. The mixture is heated to room temperature and boiled, thereby converting the formed iron (II)-borhydride complex (Fe(BH4)2) to a crown ether-iron-hydride complex [CWFe06].(2H)6. At higher temperature this last complex is converted to the Fe06-crown nanocomposite complex. The prepared nanoparticle Fe6° complex may be stabilized by inclusion into a cavity of a macrocyclic compound, and may be (1) added to diesel fuel to reduce NOx emissions upon combustion of that fuel; (2) added to lubricating oils as an anti-corrosion additive; and (3) used as an additive to secondary recovery processes within liquid hydrocarbon formations to increase the sweep efficiency and recovery factor of water-flooding operations.

    • A method of preparing customized micro batches of ice cream is disclosed. Ice cream premix is poured into a shallow eight quart bowl and flavorings and mix-ins added. Liquid nitrogen is injected into the bowl, and the premix is folded into the liquid nitrogen by folding the premix into the center of the bowl. The premix is frozen into ice cream, its edges heated to release any ice cream from the bowl, and dispensed to a serving container. By adding additional liquid nitrogen, the ice cream may be made brittle and then chopped or ground into a large or fine granular shape. As the ice cream mixture is freezing, it may be poured into a mold and placed in a cryogenic bin to freeze and harden the ice cream into the shape of the mold, for making ice cream cakes or other novelty ice cream shapes.

    • A method of concurrently communicating data from a vehicle data port to a plurality of computing devices includes a transceiver that handles a plurality of requests from a plurality of independent computing devices. The transceiver is connected to the vehicle data port either directly or indirectly through a pass-thru interface. The plurality of computing devices may each send separate (that is, independent and diverse) requests for data or communications to the vehicle through the transceiver. The transceiver maintains a queue of communications requests from each computing device and orders and sequences the vehicle communications so that timing requirements are properly met and collisions and other types of problems are avoided. The transceiver may also handle duplicative requests by sending only one request to the vehicle data port but providing responses to each requesting computing device.

The device communicates through the data port with a vehicle electronic control module. The device incorporates a set of vehicle operating parameters, communications settings and commands. The vehicle operator or other user may configure custom calculations, formulas, or algorithms to generate new data based on existing vehicle or peripheral input data and then may use this new data as the configured limit to alert the vehicle operator or other user.
