    • Transparent displays enable many useful applications, including heads-up displays for cars and aircraft as well as displays on eyeglasses and glass windows. Unfortunately, transparent displays made of organic light-emitting diodes are typically expensive and opaque. Heads-up displays often require fixed light sources and have limited viewing angles. And transparent displays that use frequency conversion are typically energy inefficient. Conversely, the present transparent displays operate by scattering visible light from resonant nanoparticles with narrowband scattering cross sections and small absorption cross sections. More specifically, projecting an image onto a transparent screen doped with nanoparticles that selectively scatter light at the image wavelength(s) yields an image on the screen visible to an observer. Because the nanoparticles scatter light at only certain wavelengths, the screen is practically transparent under ambient light. Exemplary transparent scattering displays can be simple, inexpensive, scalable to large sizes, viewable over wide angular ranges, energy efficient, and transparent simultaneously.

    • An electronic device connectable with an electronic accessory according to the present disclosure is provided. The electronic device includes a jack, a data signal transceiving unit, a measuring unit, a switching unit and a processing unit. The jack is adapted to receive an insertion of a plug of the electronic accessory and has a first contact terminal adapted to be in contact with a first contact of the plug. The data signal transceiving unit is adapted to transmit to or receive from the electronic accessory a data signal through the first contact terminal of the jack. The measuring unit is adapted to measure a parameter resulted from the contact of the first contact terminal of the jack with the first contact of the plug through the first contact terminal when the plug is inserted into the jack. The switching unit is adapted to selectively connect the first contact terminal of the jack electrically to the data signal transceiving unit or the measuring unit. The processing unit executes a corresponding function according to the measured parameter when the measured parameter has a first predetermined value.

    • A brake handle of the present invention includes a handle member and an adjusting member. The handle member has a slide block, and the adjusting member has a slide chute corresponding to the slide block, so that the slide block can be movably received in the slide chute, wherein the slide block is disposed with an aperture, a bead and an elastic member. The aperture receives the bead and the elastic member therein. The slide chute is disposed with several notches. The bead elastically abuts against one of the notches when the slide block is received in the slide chute. Thereby, the adjusting member can be moved with respect to the handle member so as to change the length of the brake handle. As a result, a rider can rapidly adjust the brake handle with ease.

    • A method for forming multicolor aluminum alloy has steps of preparing, surface treating, forming, processing and reprocessing. Preparing comprises providing an aluminum alloy substrate and cleaning with water. Surface treating has disposing the substrate in a base electrolytic solution to form a base oxide layer by anodizing. Forming has forming a membrane of transparent, acid-proof, insulated plastic on the substrate. Processing has removing local area membrane and corresponding oxide layer from the substrate and cleaning. Reprocessing has disposing the clean substrate in a subsequent electrolytic solution to form a subsequent oxide layer on areas of the substrate exposed by the membrane by anodizing.
