    • A paper shredder having shredder cover and a motor coupled to shredder blades includes a shredder throat coupled to an inlet in the shredder cover and in proximity to shredder blades. The shredder throat has a moveable throat blade, which widens the shredder throat. An anti-jam switch, which when activated causes the motor to advance the shredder blades to clear a jam in the widened shredder throat. The jam clearing mechanism can be automatic or manual, as by push-button or turn-knob linkages. A method for recovering from a shredder jam in a paper shredder is provided, including providing a moveable throat blade; sensing a shredder throat jammed condition; releasing the moveable throat blade; moving the moveable throat blade to a wide gap position; sensing the moveable throat blade in the wide gap position; advancing shredder blades in response to the sensing, by which the jammed condition is cleared.

    • The present invention provides a method for controlling dopant density of a plug-shaped doped polysilicon layer formed within a plug-shaped recess to prevent the dopant contained in the plug-shaped doped polysilicon layer from diffusing into a conductive layer under the plug-shaped recess through a bottom side of the plug-shaped recess, the plug-shaped recess being formed within a dielectric layer which is positioned above the conductive layer, the method comprising: (1) forming an undoped silicon layer on the surface of the plug-shaped recess; (2) forming a doped polysilicon layer on top of the undoped silicon layer to fill the plug-shaped recess; and (3) performing a thermal treatment to the semiconductor wafer so as to make the doped poly-silicon layer interact with the undoped silicon layer inside the plug-shaped recess which forms a completely doped polysilicon layer within the plug-shaped recess.

    • A method of fabricating trench isolation is disclosed: firstly, the areas of trench isolation are formed on a silicon substrate, and then filled by depositing an oxide layer. Secondly, a process of planarization is performed to remove the extra oxide. After that, a layer of photo resist is coated and patterned, such that the areas of trench isolation are protected by the layer of photo resist. The oxide protected by the photo resist is not removed by the subsequent etching process. During the process of stripping the photo resist, the oxide at the edges of the areas of trench isolation will be also rounded and no more in the shape of right angle. Therefore, the kink effect in the prior arts is no more existent. Thereafter, a gate oxide layer and a polysilicon layer are formed in sequence. The trench isolation according to the present invention is thus accomplished.

The touching feature is implemented through a series of electronic circuits, taking input from a conductive touch panel on the shredder feed throat, processing the signal, and through a motor driving circuit, stopping the mechanical parts of the shredder. The system has a touch detection circuit unit, which contains a bioelectricity controlled switching circuit to sense the conductive touch panel. The bioelectricity controlled switching circuit is configured to trigger a ground switching circuit in the touch detection circuit unit which outputs to a multifunction control circuit unit. The control circuit unit then takes care of the remaining protection issues. The touching device for paper shredders protects humans and other living beings including pets from injuries through automatic and real time monitoring. The complete control process is both safe and sensitive.
