    • Several methods and a system of an adjustment of familiarity in a playlist through a slider are disclosed. In one embodiment, a user may enter a particular artist or a song name through a keyboard. Once an artist or song is entered the user may be allowed to slide a slider from one end of the spectrum to the other end using a tuner. One end of the spectrum may denote the songs known to the user and the other end of the spectrum may denote the songs unknown to the user. The songs chosen by the user and the user's song selection history may be retrieved from a database module and displayed as a list of unknown songs. The list of unknown songs may be compared with the other songs in the database and a list of similar songs based on the user's seed may be generated as unknown songs.

    • Automatic meta-data sharing of existing media method and apparatus are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of a server device includes analyzing a media data of a client device to determine a meta-data identifier associated with the media data and automatically populating a new mark-up language file using an existing media-collection data associated with certain items of the media data. The meta-data identifier may be generated by a client application that is agnostic of a type of media player application compatible with the media data. The new mark-up language file may include an arrangement of the existing media-collection data of the certain items associated with the media data of the client device. A compatibility rating may be determined between the users based on the similar attributes between the arrangement and the other arrangements and enabling each user of the server device to view mark-up language files of the other users.

    • A method, system, and apparatus of a playable music library building in a streaming media environment are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of a server device includes, creatin a streamable playlist associated with a user, determining that the streamable playlist is associated with an artist, and determining that a central database includes new tracks of the artist, automatically adding the new tracks to the streamable playlist without charging a consideration to the user. The method may include communicating an alert message to the user when the new tracks may be added to the streamable playlist. The method may create a category playlist associated with the user based on a category of a media content. The method may include determining that the central database may include additional tracks in the category. The method may request that the user to add the additional tracks in the category playlist.

    • Several methods and systems to generate a playlist based on a frequency ratio are disclosed. In one aspect a method includes, presenting a list of a seed data to a user of a music device, selecting a portion of the seed data based on a preference of a user, and determining an identity of a primary song based on a match between the primary song and the preference of the user. The method also includes providing the user streaming access to the primary song in a database and determining a secondary song based on the primary song. A correlation between the secondary song and the primary song is determined based on an algorithm and the user is provided streaming access to the secondary song. A frequency ratio of the primary song and the secondary song is automatically adjusted in responsive to a selection through a selection tool.

    • Multiple information is extracted from an unknown recording and information associated therewith. Associated information includes the filename, if the recording is a computer file in, e.g., MP3 format, or table of contents (TOC) data, if the recording is on a removable medium, such as a compact disc. At least one and preferably several algorithmically determined fingerprints are extracted from the recording using one or more fingerprint extraction methods. The information extracted is compared with corresponding information in a database maintained for reference recordings. Identification starts with the most accurate and efficient method available, e.g., using a hash ID, a unique ID or text. Fingerprint matching is used to confirm other matches and validation is performed by comparing the duration of the unknown and a possibly matching reference recording.

    • An override of automatically shared meta-data of media method and apparatus are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of a server device includes automatically populating a hierarchy using a play-list history data associated with a media data of a client device and modifying the heirarchy based on a user override. The hierarchy may be a heirarchy of the play-list history data of the certain items associated with the media data of the client device. A modified heirarchy may be generated based on an addition, deletion and/or an adjust modifying operation of the user override on the hierarchy and may be automatically populated on a new mark-up language file based on the modified heirarchy. A new compatiability rating may be determined between the user and the other users based on the similiar attributes between the modified hierarchy and the other heirarchies and each user of the server device may be enabled to view mark-up language files of the other users.
