    • Disclosed herein are embolism protection devices that may be deployed in the peripheral arterial system for the collection of loosened or floating debris, such as embolic material dislodged during or thrombi formed as a result of a peripheral intervention, such as an angioplasty, stenting, or atherectomy. The disclosed embolism protection devices are designed to be inserted distal to lesion in a lower limb artery via one of the arteries of the foot, such as the dorsalis pedis, posterior tibialis, or peroneal (fibular) artery, and they include a compliant mesh portion supported by a compliant wire support member, and the compliant mesh portion extends to form or couples to a solid catheter portion that extends out of the body during use, and that may be coupled to a stopcock or syringe for removal of debris.

    • Disclosed herein are systems and methods for protecting a subject from embolisms during TAVR percutaneous valve procedures. Various embodiments include an intravascular embolism protection device that includes an elongated, compliant wire frame made from a material having a shape-memory function, and a mesh sleeve coupled to the compliant wire frame, the mesh material having a pore size selected to allow blood to pass therethrough while retaining potential emboli. In some embodiments, the embolism protection device has a collapsed state wherein device fits within the lumen of a deployment/retrieval catheter and an expanded state wherein the embolism protection device expands to span the width of the aorta and the distance between the aortic valve and the puncture site in the femoral artery.

    • Embodiments provide adjustable vascular catheter systems suitable for use in radial access procedures. In embodiments, the adjustable catheter includes an elongated tubular member having a wall defining a proximal end, a distal end, and a main lumen extending therebetween; a first micro-lumen having a proximal end, a distal end, and a hollow lumen extending therebetween, wherein the first micro-lumen extends substantially outwardly from the catheter wall and runs in parallel with the main lumen; and a first shape wire adapted to pass within the first micro-lumen, wherein the first shape wire has a shape memory function sufficient to deflect a deflectable distal portion of the elongated tubular member. In various embodiments, the shape of the deflected distal portion may allow a user to navigate the catheter past one or more tortuosities and reach normally positioned and anomalous positioned vascular ostia. Some embodiments include second and third shape wires, each having a different shape memory function.
