摘要： A support structure for at least two flat panel display devices that permits adjustment of the at least two display devices in or about one or more axes, and a display system including such support structure and display devices while maintaining a constant space between the display devices in various configurations, alignments and orientations of the display devices. Such support structure, as provided in accordance with embodiments of the invention, provides for configuration of the at least two display devices, in a plurality of alignments in which fronts of the two display devices are generally aligned in a plane, for viewing together. Embodiments of the support structure provide for the two display devices to be positioned in a landscape and/or portrait configuration. Embodiments of the support structure provide for repositioning the display devices between horizontally and vertically-aligned configurations without disassembling the support structure itself and without disassembling either or both of the two display devices from the support structure.

摘要： A bezel-less display is disclosed that includes an electronic display device and a cover. The electronic display device has an image-displaying portion and another portion adjacent the image-displaying portion along at least one side. The cover is positioned adjacent the electronic display device and includes a first portion positioned adjacent the image-displaying portion of the display device and a second portion positioned adjacent the other portion of the display device. The optical properties of the first and second portions of the cover are selected to present an appearance of a uniform cover without a bezel when the display device is not displaying an image. The optical properties of the first portion are also selected to transmit images displayed on the image-displaying portion. Preferably, the optical properties of the second portion are selected to mask the other portion of the display device. A secondary display device may also be provided that presents an image, such as a logo, independently of whether the other or main electronic display device is displaying an image.

摘要： The invention provides a handset that includes a finger-image sensor that provides finger-image-related signals or data for authentication purposes and functions as a telephone handset for use with a computer terminal. A system, including handsets and computer terminals, enables the terminal and/or the handset to access or otherwise participate in at least one network-related function and voice communication in response to authentication of finger-image data provided by the handset. The handset includes an elongated housing having opposed major sides and opposed ends. A speaker is positioned in the vicinity of a first end of the handset to transmit sound from a first major side of the handset, and a microphone is positioned in the vicinity of a second end of the handset to receive sound from a first major side of the handset. A finger-image sensor is positioned in the vicinity of and spaced from the second end of the handset to sense a finger-image from a second major side of the handset, and a contoured surface is provided leading to the finger-image sensor. Circuitry for performing voice functions and finger-image functions are associated with separate USB ports, which are coupled to a USB hub of the handset.
