    • Embodiments of the present invention disclose a system and method for multi-viewpoint video capture. According to one embodiment, the system includes a camera housing for accommodating both a first multi-imager set and a second multi-imager set, with each multi-imager set including a plurality of optical cameras having different viewpoint directions and configured to produce a source image. Furthermore, each camera in the first multi-imager set and the second multi-imager set include corresponding cameras facing in approximately the same viewpoint direction. The first multi-imager set is positioned laterally adjacent to the second multi-imager set such that lines joining a center of projection of corresponding cameras in the first multi-imager set and second multi-imager set are approximately parallel.

    • A system that enables communication and collaboration among individuals using rich media environments. A system according to the present techniques includes a set of rich media environments each having a corresponding arrangement of sensing and rendering components for sensing of and rendering to a corresponding set of individuals. A system according to the present techniques includes an interest thread detector that uses the sensing and rendering components to detect formation of multiple communication interactions among the individuals and that creates an interest thread for each detected communication interaction and further includes a communication provider that for each interest thread captures a set of media data from a corresponding subset of the sensing components and that combines the captured media data in response to the activities of the corresponding individuals and that communicates the combined media data to a corresponding subset of the rendering components.

    • Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to stereo display systems. In one embodiment, the stereo display system includes a display (402), a viewing area (404), and one or more pairs of stereo projectors (409-411). Each pair of stereo projectors corresponds to a sub-region of the viewing area. In addition, each pair of stereo projectors projects a rectified image pair onto the display so that one or more viewers located in the corresponding sub-region exclusively view the image pair, enabling the viewers in the sub-region to perceive three-dimensional images presented on the display.

    • A method for color blending seamless composite images without requiring overlap of source images is disclosed. A plurality of source images is acquired from a plurality of imagers and is combined to produce a seamless composite image. Moreover, a first reference location is selected in a first source image and a second reference location is selected in a second source image of the composite image. Color transform interpolation is then performed between the reference location in the first source image and the reference location in the second and other source images to produce a seamless color blended composite image without requiring overlap of image regions of the plurality of source images.
