    • An electrical connector includes a body having a terminating end and a mating end. A power contact extends from the mating end of the body. The power contact is configured to be engaged by a power contact of a mating connector connected to a predominantly capacitive load. An auxiliary contact extends from the mating end of the body. The auxiliary contact is coupled in series with a resistor. The auxiliary contact configured to be engaged by an auxiliary contact of the mating connector. The auxiliary contact in series with the resistor is configured to engage the mating connector before the power contact to resist a surge current due to the capacitive load from the mating connector.

    • A relay assembly includes a coil and a stationary contact having a first contact surface. At least a portion of the first contact surface defines a wiping contact surface. The relay assembly also includes a movable contact having a second contact surface defining a contact area that engages the first contact surface. The movable contact is moved along a driving path toward the stationary contact when current is passed through the coil, and the movable contact is moved along a rebound path different from the driving path after initial impact with the stationary contact. The stationary contact is oriented or shaped with respect to the movable contact such that the movable contact engages, and wipes against, at least a portion of the wiping contact surface when the movable contact is moved along the rebound path.

    • An all dielectric right angle connector is disclosed for interconnecting a pluggable high voltage tube with an electrical high voltage lead. A high voltage lead is terminated with an electrical receptacle type contact which is latchably retained within an elbow portion of the connector. A braided conductive sheath or shielding of the cable is received over an end of the connector provided with projecting teeth. A tapered sleeve is latchably secured to the teeth captivating the sheath. The sleeve is oriented by a polarizing feature of the connector. The contact is deeply recessed from each end of the connector for shock protection.

    • An electrical connector having a dielectric housing and a plurality of internal cavities containing electrical contacts terminated to electrical leads which protrude from the housing is contained within a conductive shell. The shell is bifurcated longitudinally with each shell portion having a lip which interlocks on the dielectric housing when the shell portions are assembled together. Each shell portion includes a pair of flanges on opposite sides. The flanges project outwardly toward an open side of the shell portion to captivate the other shell portion. The flanges also are in laterally offset planes such that the shell portions are identical and when they are assembled their corresponding flanges are overlapped. Fasteners may be used to join the overlapped flanges. Also mounting bolts and the like may be assembled on the overlapped flanges for mounting the shell to a bulkhead or panel. Electrical leads protruding from the assembled shell may be encapsulated within the shell. Alternatively a metal outer sheath of the leads may be compressibly stuffed into a groove of the shell by a rigid metal ring.
