摘要： A disc cartridge for containing therein a disc-shaped medium which includes a generally flattened disc casing having a disc chamber defined therein for accommodating the disc-shaped medium and also having an access opening leading into the disc chamber, a lid structure supported by the disc casing at a position adjacent the access opening for movement between a closed position, in which the access opening is closed, and an opened position, and a lid lock interposed between the disc casing and the lid structure for locking the lid structure in the closed position. The lid lock includes a removable lock piece having first and second spaced functional parts. The first functional part has a breakable region through which the removable lock piece is connected with a portion of one of the disc casing and the lid structure, and the second functional part is engageable with a portion of the other of the disc casing and the lid structure to retain the lid structure in the closed position. The lid structure can be moved from the closed position towards the opened position only when and after the removable lock piece is broken off along the breakable region by application of an external force thereto.

摘要： A single-reel tape cartridge includes a rectangular flattened casing including upper and lower panels joined together to define a reel chamber therebetween. A tape reel includes a cylindrical hollow boss and upper and lower flanges protruding radially outwardly from upper and lower ends of the hollow boss, respectively, and is accommodated rotatably within the reel chamber. A drive ring is disposed at a lower portion of a hollow of the hollow boss and adapted to receive a rotary drive from a drive element of a tape drive mechanism when the drive element is brought into engagement with the drive ring in a planar contact fashion. This drive ring is supported in a fashion slidable up and down, but non-rotatable relative to the hollow boss. A reel retainer is biased by a biasing spring in one direction towards the lower panel of the casing, such that the drive ring can be sandwiched between the drive element and the reel retainer while the drive element is held in tight contact with an undersurface of the drive ring.

摘要： A disc cartridge includes a cartridge casing for freely rotatably accommodating a disc-shaped recording medium. The cartridge casing has positioning recesses defined in respective portions of the right and left sides of the cartridge casing adjacent the rear end thereof. A generally U-shaped access opening is defined in the rear end of the cartridge casing and respective portions of the left and right sides thereof including the associated recesses. A lid assembly for selectively opening and closing the access opening is pivotally supported by the cartridge casing. The lid assembly includes a lid body adapted to protrude into the cartridge casing so as to occupy a space between the recording medium within the cartridge casing and the access opening. The lid body includes a regulating surface for restricting a play of the recording medium within the cartridge casing and left and right cutouts defined therein in a manner alignable with the left and right recesses, respectively. A thin-walled cavity for reducing the volume and weight of the lid assembly being formed so as to occupy a major portion of surface walls of the lid body while opening at at least one of upper and lower surface walls.

摘要： A magnetic tape cartridge includes a casing having a tape chamber defined therein for accommodating a reeled magnetic recording tape and, also, box arms protruding outwardly from a front wall section of the casing so as to leave a loading bay that opens upwardly, frontwardly and downwardly and is thus delimited by upwardly, frontwardly and downwardly oriented open areas. The casing includes a lid assembly for selectively concealing and exposing that portion of magnetic recording tape and including front, top and rear lids operatively linked together. The front and top lids are adapted to selectively open and close the frontwardly and upwardly oriented open areas of the loading bay, respectively, while the rear lid is positioned within the loading bay and adapted to selectively open and close a space delimited between the front and the rear lid. At least first and second, generally cylindrical bosses extend between the top and bottom panels of the casing and are positioned at respective points of intersection between inner side walls of the box arms, which confront the loading bay, and the front wall section so as to partially protrude laterally into the loading bay. Each boss has a positioning hole defined axially therein so as to extend exteriorly through one of the top and bottom walls of the casing and is comprised of upper and lower boss segments aligned axially with each other. The upper boss segment has an outer diameter smaller than that of the lower boss segment.
