摘要： A content distribution system inhibits execution of processing which is unnecessary for streams having specific structures. The content distribution system includes a distribution server and a playback apparatus. The distribution server transmits a program stream and a program state flag associated with the program stream that indicates whether or not program content corresponding to the program stream is constituted of only 3D video. The playback apparatus determines, prior to decoding the program stream, whether or not the program state flag indicates that the program content is constituted of only 3D video, and when determining that the program content is constituted of only 3D video, decodes the program stream and performs control so as to play back the program stream as 3D video without determining whether or not each frame included in the program stream is a 3D video frame.

The distribution server transmits a video stream and an initial frame state flag indicating whether an initial frame of the video stream is a 3D video frame or a 2D video frame. Receiving the video stream and the initial frame state flag, the playback apparatus determines whether the initial frame is a 3D video frame or a 2D video frame by using the initial frame state flag and sets, prior to decoding the video stream, an output mode to be applied to the initial frame to a 3D output mode when the initial frame is a 3D video frame and to a 2D output mode when the initial frame is a 2D video frame.

One piece of individual electronic program information of a particular channel service and pieces of general electronic program information of channel services, other than the particular channel service, are multiplexed and transmitted to each viewer. In each terminal, a particular terminal type of the terminal and a particular version number of the computer software product downloaded in the terminal are managed. In cases where the particular terminal type of the terminal agrees with the terminal type listed in the guide and the particular version number of the computer software product is higher than the version number listed in the guide, the downloading of the computer software product is judged, and the computer software product is downloaded to the terminal at the transmission start time. Accordingly, the computer software product can be downloaded to user's terminal without requiring a special frequency band used only for the computer software product. Also, because the computer software product received in the terminal is updated, the user can always execute the updated computer software product.

摘要： A change-over device is provided for a sorting conveyor. Projected members of slats forming the sorting conveyor are made of ferromagnetic substance such as iron alloy. Those projected members are guided by a guide rail which is installed on the rear side of the conveyor. The guide rail is made up of a main rail and a branch rail. The side wall of the branch rail is partially omitted near at the inlet of the branching portion of the guide rail where the branch rail branches from the main rail, and instead an upper side wall and a lower side wall are formed there by an electromagnet and a permanent magnet, respectively. When the electromagnet is energized, each projected member is attracted towards the upper side wall, and is then allowed to move along the lower side wall, thus being led into the branch rail. Thus, the articles on the conveyor are suitably sorted while being conveyed to the selected branch conveying path.
