    • A motor driven appliance timer utilizing a cam program disk and snap action switches is provided. The motor may be externally energized, or may be energized based on integrated electronics within the appliance timer. Rotation of the program disk by a user to allow selection of a desired appliance cycle is accommodated by a clutch subassembly that allows bidirectional rotation of the program disk without requiring that the user pull or push the control shaft before rotating the program disk. The timer of the present invention may utilize either impulse or constant drive mechanisms to rotate the program disk. The use of snap action switches minimizes the possibility of tack weld failures due to switch teasing.

    • A one time high fill pressure switch providing energy savings operation for use in a commercial or consumer appliance such as a clothes washing machine is provided. The one time high fill pressure switch provides multiple water level settings that may be selected by a user, including a maximum fill energy savings setting. Operation in the maximum fill energy savings setting allows a maximum fill level upon the first fill cycle of the programmed washing cycle. In subsequent fill cycles during the washing cycle, the one time high fill pressure switch limits the water level to a setting below the initial fill level setting. This operation is provided through the use of a hook feature on the pressure switch program cam that traps a reset spring support and is controlled by a cam follower in the pressure switch.

    • A two stage motorized servo-actuator having a worm driven high reduction gear train providing a rotary output. The motor shaft has a worm and co-axially therewith, a beveled pinion. The motor worm is continuously engaged with a first stage gear. The first stage gear has an input sector gear disposed co-axially and rotatable therewith. The input sector gear intermittently engages an output gear. The output gear has a beveled output sector gear disposed co-axially and rotatably therewith. Upon disengagement of the input sector gear with the output gear, the beveled pinion engages the beveled output sector gear to drive the output gear directly. Once the input sector gear is disengaged from the output gear, a return spring on the output gear can reverse drive the motor through the beveled pinion to return the output gear to a desired position in the event of motor failure in operation.
