摘要： A look-up table for use in a printing system is created. The printing system prints an input image in a print color space. The look-up table is created by accessing a predetermined look-up table representing a mapping of color values of an input color space to ink-vectors of a print color space; applying a p-by-q halftone threshold matrix to each ink-vector of the predetermined look-up table to generate a p-by-q halftone cell for each ink-vector; and creating a further look-up table which maps, at least a sample of, the color values of input color space to the at least one halftone cell.

摘要： Certain examples described herein relate to apparatus arranged to produce a three-dimensional object. These examples enable color and material properties of such an apparatus to be characterized. This is achieved through the generation of configuration data for the apparatus that maps at least one color property to one or more material volume coverage vector values. This allows for appropriate quantities of materials available to the apparatus to be used to produce colors defined in received object data for the three-dimensional object.

摘要： At least a portion of a 3-D object is converted into a format suitable for printing. A material volume coverage vector for each voxel of a 3-D bit map of a 3-D object is determined. The 3-D bit map comprises a plurality of voxels, each voxel located at a unique 3-D location. A rectangular cuboid comprising an M×N×L array of voxel locations enclosing at least a portion of the 3-D object is determined. A halftone threshold matrix comprising an array of threshold values is provided. The halftone threshold matrix is converted to provide an M×N×L 3-D array of threshold values. Each material volume coverage vector of the at least a portion is compared with each threshold value at corresponding 3-D locations to select a printable voxel at each 3-D location to convert the at least a portion of the 3-D object into a format suitable for printing.

摘要： A method of mapping colors which are outside a reproduction device's color gamut to reproducible colors uses a boundary of a reduced gamut. In a three-dimensional color space the reduced gamut is derived from the reproduction device's gamut by reducing its size in all three dimensions. Reduced-gamut clipping-vectors are determined by clipping the out-of-gamut colors onto the reduced-gamut boundary, and the out-of-gamut colors are mapped to those colors at which the reduced-gamut clipping-vectors intersect the reproduction device's gamut boundary. Thus out-of-gamut colors associated with clipping-vectors of different directions that are clipped onto the same point, or adjacent points, of the reduced-gamut boundary are mapped to points spaced apart, or spaced farther apart, on the reproduction device's gamut boundary.
