摘要： A computer system and method manages the disbursement and replacement of medication units to patients. Medication units disbursed to qualified patients under qualified discount plans are replaced by replenishment. Computer systems implementing traditional replenishment, cached replenishment, and prepurchased replenishment are disclosed. The computer system and method monitors medication units disbursed to patients by a pharmacy and tracks the amount of medication units disbursed to qualified patients of health care providers qualified under a discount program. When the amount of disbursed medication units reaches a threshold, replacement medication units are ordered. The medication units disbursed to non-qualified patients are replaced through restocking and the medication units disbursed under a qualified discount program are replaced through traditional replenishment, cached replenishment, and/or prepurchased replenishment.

摘要： The existing infrastructure of a pharmacy may be extended to allow the pharmacy to service patients of one or more qualified entities that are entitled to discounted drugs through one or more qualified programs (e.g., 340B, GPO, PAP, or the like). One or more data structures of the systems already in place at the pharmacy may be leveraged to store data relating to the qualified entity and/or qualified program that covering the patients served by the pharmacy. This data used to comply with the regulatory requirements of the qualifying programs under which the drugs are obtained. The data may also be used to track inventory loaned to the qualifying entity from a common inventory of the pharmacy. The inventory information may be used to replenish the loaned inventory as needed, identify alternative, equivalent drugs for use in replenishment, and manage the reimbursement and financial reconciliation elements of the qualified programs.

Participating Contract Pharmacies are associated with a Covered Entity, and each medication unit is associated with a code that corresponds to medication units dispersed by the Contract Pharmacies. The amount of medication units corresponding to the code and dispersed by the Contract Pharmacies is tracked. When the amount of medication units dispensed across the Contract Pharmacies to patients of the Covered Entity reaches a replenishment threshold, replacement medication units are ordered to replace inventory loaned by the Contract Pharmacies to the Covered Entity at the Covered Entity's available drug discount purchase price.
