摘要： Apparatuses are provided for compressing a thermal interface material between a heat generating electronic component and a cooling electrical component. Embodiments include a rotatable latch fastened to the heat generating electrical component, the rotatable latch including a hook; wherein when the rotatable latch is in an engaged position, the hook of the rotatable latch engages a pin extending from the cooling electrical component such that the thermal interface material adhered to the heat generating electrical component is coupled to the cooling component; when the rotatable latch is in an unengaged position, the hook of the rotatable latch is not engaged with the pin of the cooling electrical component; a load screw; wherein when the rotatable latch is in the engaged position, threading the load screw into the rotatable latch moves the rotatable latch into a locked state; and a spring leaf that is coupled to the heat generating electrical component.

摘要： A tool-less pedestal for a computer system housing has a planar member having first and second sections. The first section is adapted to removably engage with a bottom of the computer system housing without requiring any tools, the second section extending from the first section beyond the bottom of the housing when the first section is engaged with the bottom of the housing for preventing the housing from tipping over. Edges of the first section slidably engage with corresponding slots in the bottom of the housing, there being two edges and two slots. The first section is adapted to removably engage with a bottom of the computer system housing without protruding into an interior of the housing, without interfering with feet provided on the bottom of the housing, and is adapted to snap over a longer side of the housing bottom when fully seated.

摘要： A retention system includes a retainer having at least two wings affixed to a mounting surface by a retaining screw or like attachment device inserted into a hole of the mounting surface. A coil spring or the like, optionally captured by the retaining screw, provides tension between the retainer and the mounting surface. The hole of the mounting surface defines the potential placement of the retainer relative to the mounting surface, allowing it to assume a neutral position and a plurality of offset positions. While in its neutral position, the wings of the retainer prevent the removal of connectors, cables, screws, or other retention devices by physically trapping them between the retainer and the mounting surface. By moving the retainer to one of the plurality of offset positions, a user may expose one of the connectors, cables, screws, or other retention devices, allowing it to be removed while preventing the accidental or inadvertent removal of the other components still trapped by the retainer.
