    • A light active device includes a semiconductor particulate dispersed within a carrier material. A first contact layer is provided so on application of an electric field charge carriers having a polarity are injected into the semiconductor particulate through the carrier material. A second contact layer is provided so on application of the electric field to the second contact layer charge carriers having an opposite polarity are injected into the semiconductor particulate through the carrier material. The semiconductor particulate comprises at least one of an organic and an inorganic semiconductor. The semiconductor particulate may comprise an organic light active particulate. When constructed as a light emitting device, an electric field applied to the semiconductor particulate through the carrier causes charge carriers of opposite polarity to be injected into the semiconductor particulate. The charge carriers combine to form carrier pairs which decay and give off light.

    • An antibacklashing fishing reel. A spool holds and releases a length of fishing line. An overrun condition of the fishing line being released from the spool is determined by a line motion sensor. The line motion sensor includes a rotatable member rotatable in response to movement of the fishing line during a cast and a sensor for sensing the rotation of the rotatable member. The sensor generates the line motion signal depending on the sensed rotation of the rotatable member. An electronically variable brake is controlled depending on the line motion signal for applying a variable braking force to resist rotation of the spool in response to the determined overrun condition of the fishing line being released from the spool. When the line motion signal indicates that the line is being played out from the spool slower than the spool is releasing it, an overrun condition is determined and the spool is braked to prevent the occurrence of a backlash. The overrun condition may also be determined a variable electrical resistance mechanism for determining the electronic status signal having a value dependent on the tension of the line being release from the spool. The braking of the spool is controlled so that a variable braking force is applied depending on the sensed line tension as determined by the variable electrical resistance mechanism.

    • A conventional mirror will quickly fog when exposed to the extremely humid environment of the shower. This is because the moisture contained in the warm ambient air condenses on the relatively cooler mirror surface. An effective way to remedy this problem is to heat the mirror surface to a sufficient temperature to combat condensation of the moisture in the ambient air. This invention provides an effective method and apparatus to combat fog formation. This invention utilizes relatively simple construction to provide a low cost, safe, highly portable, efficient and effective method and apparatus to provide a non fogging shower mirror. To achieve this, the inventive device (10) incorporates a mirror, attached to a reservoir (14). This reservoir (14) holds a thermal mass of warm water. The thermal energy of this warm water is conducted through the mirror (12) substrate to the mirror surface, thus raising the temperature of the mirror (12) surface sufficiently to effectively combat moisture condensation and thus combat fog formation. The reservoir (14) includes a filling orifice (18), suspension hook hole (16) and water exit port (20). The user fills the inventive device (10) with water through the filling orifice (18) and hangs the inventive device (10) by a hook secured to the shower wall and inserted in suspension hook hole (16). The water in the reservoir (14) slowly escapes through the action of gravity through water exit port (20), thus leaving an empty reservoir.
