摘要： A vision system for a vehicle includes at least a first imager, an image processor, and at least a second imager. The first imager has a field of view through the windshield of the vehicle in the direction of forward travel of the vehicle. The second imager captures video images of a scene occurring exteriorly and rearwardly of the vehicle. When the vehicle is executing a reversing maneuver, the image processor processes image data captured by the second imager to detect objects in the exterior scene to assist the driver in reversing the vehicle, and when the vehicle is traveling forward, the image processor and the first imager are part of at least one of (i) a headlamp control system of the vehicle, (ii) a rain sensing system of the vehicle, (iii) a lane departure warning system of the vehicle and (iv) a traffic sign recognition system of the vehicle.

The mounting assembly includes a mounting structure that is attachable to an interior portion of the vehicle and includes a mirror mounting element pivotally attached at an end of the mounting structure to establish a mirror ball pivot joint. The attaching portion of the mirror mounting element is configured to attach to a receiving portion of the mirror head via a snap connection and/or a twist connection. The attaching portion of the mirror mounting element, when the mirror mounting element is attached at the end of the mounting structure, is attachable to the receiving portion of the mirror head from a position rearward of the mirror casing and from exterior the mirror casing to attach the mirror head at the mounting structure.

摘要： An interior rearview mirror assembly includes a human machine interface having at least one user actuatable input accessible at a portion of the mirror casing. The user actuatable input provides user input to at least one element of circuitry that is disposed in the mirror casing, the interior rearview mirror assembly and/or an accessory module. The circuitry is associated with at least one of (i) a moisture sensor, (ii) a blower motor, (iii) a cabin air monitoring device that monitors the air within the cabin of the vehicle, (iv) a cabin air monitoring device that monitors the level of carbon monoxide in the air within the cabin of the vehicle, (v) an air intake, (vi) a remote ignition system, (vii) a humidity sensing device, and (viii) a display device disposed behind a transflective mirror reflector of the interior rearview mirror assembly and visible to the driver when displaying information.

The mirror assembly may have a touch zone having at least one touch pad established at a perimeter border band of the reflective element, and may have another touch sensor to detect a touch of a user away from the touch zone to determine when a detected touch at the touch zone is an unintentional touch.

The housing includes an element that protrudes beyond a rear surface of the glass substrate and towards the front surface of the glass substrate when the reflective element is at least partially received at the housing. The glass substrate includes a slanted rear perimeter edge-portion along a perimeter circumference of the rear surface of the glass substrate to at least partially accommodate the element of the housing when the reflective element is at least partially received at the housing. The glass substrate includes a beveled front perimeter along a perimeter circumference of the front surface of the glass substrate. The beveled front perimeter of the glass substrate is exposed and viewable by the driver of the vehicle.

The mirror head includes a first microphone operable to generate a first analog signal and a second microphone operable to generate a second analog signal. The first analog signal is converted to a first digital signal by at least one analog to digital converter and the second analog signal is converted to a second digital signal by the at least one analog to digital converter. A digital sound processor is operable to process the first and second digital signals. Responsive to the processing of the first and second digital signals, the digital sound processor generates a digital output, and the digital output, at least in part, distinguishes a human voice present in the vehicle from noise present in the vehicle.

A plurality of light emitting diodes is mounted to the circuit board for providing backlighting for a display element disposed rearward of the reflective element. With at least some of the light emitting diodes electrically actuated to emit light, light emitted by actuated light emitting diodes passes through the display element and through a partially transmissive and significantly reflective region of the reflective element for viewing of displayed information by the driver of the vehicle. Individual light emitting diodes arc aligned with respective openings through a light reflecting element disposed between the circuit board and the display element, To the driver of the vehicle viewing the reflective element, the presence of the display element is substantially not apparent until at least one of the light emitting diodes is actuated.

摘要： A video mirror system for a vehicle comprising an interior rearview mirror assembly having a transflective electro-optic reflective element that transmits at least about ten percent of visible light incident thereon and reflects at least about sixty percent of visible light incident thereon. A display module is disposed at a rear of the transflective electro-optic reflective element and comprises a plurality of individual light sources. A thermally conductive element may be in substantial thermal contact with the display module and is exposed at a rear casing portion of the mirror assembly so as to draw heat generated by the display module away from the display module and to the exterior of the interior rearview mirror assembly. The exposure of the thermally conductive element at the rear casing portion may be substantially not discernible to a viewer viewing the rear casing portion of the interior rearview mirror assembly.
