    • A utensil for feeding a child is disclosed. The utensil includes a portion for holding food and a handle for holding the utensil. The utensil further includes a speaker for playing audio and at least one activator for activating the speaker to play audio. The portion for holding food may be removable and may include a fork or a spoon. Further, the portion for holding food may be a concave basin portion or two or more prongs for pitching food. Also, the activator may include one ore more buttons and the utensil may include a processor connected to one or more buttons, wherein the processor activates playing of audio via the speaker when at least one button is pushed. Additionally, the utensil may include a memory for storing audio data, wherein the processor reads the audio data and plays it via the speaker when a button is pushed.

    • The present invention provides a method and apparatus for detecting interference in a wireless communications system. The invention compares the receiver FFT output of a received signal against known sequences such as the packet synchronization sequence, frame synchronization sequence, and channel estimation sequence. By comparing the reference signal to the known sequences, the invention estimates the instantaneous signal to noise ratio (SNR) for each tone of a wireless transmission. To improve the SNR estimate, the invention computes a weighted average across multiple OFDM symbols. The invention looks for significant increases (spikes) in the SNR as a way of distinguishing interfering signals from noise. The invention can store separate SNR estimates for each transmitter in a wireless network. One embodiment of the invention uses Viterbi branch metrics in conjunction with the estimated SNR to determine the presence of an interfering signal. If interference is detected the invention feeds the inverse of the SNR estimate into the Viterbi decoder or declares and erasure for that symbol.

    • A missile includes a payload assembly that has a pair of nosecones. The nosecones may be optimized for different environments and/or phases of flight, for example, having different shapes, different shell materials, different types of seals, and/or different separation mechanisms. The first (outer) nosecone may have a more streamlined shape, be made of more thermally-protective material, and may meet less stringent sealing requirements, than the second (inner) nosecone. Separation of the outer nosecone from the payload assembly may cause backward movement of a center of pressure of the payload assembly, bringing the center of pressure of the assembly closer to a center of gravity of the assembly. This may make the payload assembly easier to maneuver, for example, reducing or eliminating the need for intervention by an attitude control system, to maintain the payload assembly on a desired course.
