    • Systems and methods for reading a RFID-tag signal in the presence of noise and other propagation and circuit impairments using a RFID-tag reader are disclosed. The method includes receiving with a RFID-tag reader multiple copies of an original RFID-tag signal from a RFID tag. The original RFID-tag signal comprises an original bit sequence representative of information stored in the RFID tag. At least some of the received RFID-tag signal copies differ from one another due to noise or other signal impairments. The received multiple copies are processed on a sample-by-sample basis in the RFID-tag reader using digital signal processing techniques to obtain an improved received digitized RFID tag signal that substantially removes the noise and other impairments. This improved signal is used to recover the original bit sequence and thus the information stored in the RFID tag.

    • The present invention provides a method and system in a telecommunications network for restoring network element failures or network link failures in case not all network elements possess distributed restoration capabilities, for example during an introduction-phase of the distributed restoration system, or in case a network consists of different kinds of network elements provided by different providers, i.e. a multivendor network. The distributed restoration of network elements which do not possess these capabilities is taken over by the distributed restoration module of network management. The interface which is used for communication between a network element and the network management, is preferably implemented according to the q3 standard. The distributed restoration module within the network management can be replaced by a central restoration module which has the advantage over the distributed module that a better solution will be found.

    • A resequencing system (DDM, TSG, IC, REG, SUB, RSU) is disclosed for resequencing the cells of a cell stream transmitted through the cascaded connection of a first switching node (SN'), a buffer register (OB) and a second switching node (SN). It includes: a resequencing means (TSG, IC, REG, SUB, RSU) associated to the second switching node (SN), a delay measurement circuit (DDM) associated with the buffer register (OB) and adapted to measure the time delay to which each of said cells is submitted in said buffer register (OB), means to communicate the delay thus measured for each cell to the resequencing means (TSG, IC, REG, SUB, RSU). After said cell has been switched by said second switching node (SN), the resequencing means (TSG, IC, REG, SUB, RSU) submits this cell to a time delay equal to the difference between a predetermined constant time delay value and the communicated delay.
