摘要： A bone anchoring device for anchoring a rod to a bone or vertebra includes a receiving part having two legs defining a channel for the rod, and a rod receiving member positionable in the channel, the rod receiving member including an upper surface and a lower surface defining a longitudinally extending passage for receiving the rod and respectively configured to restrict upward and downward movement of a rod received in the passage. The rod receiving member is adjustable from a first configuration where the passage is unobstructed and the rod is movable longitudinally through the passage, to a second configuration where an engagement surface attached to other portions of the rod receiving member is advanced axially into the passage to engage the rod while a rotational orientation of the engagement surface remains constant to restrict movement of the rod in the passage.

摘要： A receiving part of a bone anchoring device is provided, where the receiving part includes a first end, a second end opposite to the first end, a central axis extending through the first end and the second end, and a substantially U-shaped-recess adjacent to the first end for receiving a spinal fixation element. The substantially U-shaped recess forms two free legs. The receiving part also includes a bore extending from the first end towards the second end and in communication with the substantially U-shaped recess. A groove is provided in an outer surface of each of the legs, where the groove has a first end and a second end and extends in a circumferential direction in an arcuate shape between the first end of the groove and the second end of the groove. In a plane that includes the central axis and that extends through a center of each leg, a contour of a surface of the groove has at least a first arcuate portion and a second arcuate portion opposing the first arcuate portion, where the contour is substantially free from straight portions.

摘要： A polyaxial bone anchoring device includes a receiving part having a longitudinal axis, a channel for receiving a rod, and an accommodation space for pivotably holding a head of a bone anchoring element, and a pressure member configured to be positioned in the receiving part and to exert pressure onto the head to lock the head in the receiving part. The pressure member includes a pressure exerting surface and a deformable portion having a free end, wherein the deformable portion is configured to assume at least a first configuration and a second configuration. The polyaxial bone anchoring device further includes a locking member configured to be inserted into the channel and to exert a force onto the deformable portion. When the head and the pressure member and the locking member are in the receiving part, the free end of the deformable portion is supported in the receiving part, and the locking member is movable in the channel along the longitudinal direction in such a manner that the locking member first contacts the deformable portion and exerts a force onto the deformable portion to bring the deformable portion from the first configuration into the second configuration thereby locking the head. Thereafter the locking member comes into contact with the rod and locks the rod.
