    • The invention is related to wireless communication systems, methods, devices, computer program, and computer-readable memory medium, and, more specifically, relate to synchronization techniques. The invention relates to a method, including deriving two different timings from a timing source, wherein a first derived timing is a physical timing used for timing at least transmissions from a wireless network access node, and wherein a second derived timing is a virtual timing representing a currently preferred physical timing; receiving an indication of a virtual timing from at least one other network access node; comparing the at least one received virtual timing indication with the derived virtual timing of the network access node, and update the derived virtual timing; and determining achieving synchronization of the derived virtual timing with the at least one received virtual timing, and to adjust the physical timing accordingly.

    • It is described a method for determining an optimized configuration of a telecommunication network including a first base station serving first user equipments within a first cell and a second base station serving second user equipments within a second cell. The method includes (a) collecting first measurement reports from the first user equipments, (b) collecting second measurement reports from the second user equipments, (c) generating a first information based on the first measurement reports, wherein the first information is indicative for the current coverage situation within the first cell, (d) generating a second information based on the second measurement reports, wherein the second information is indicative for the current coverage situation within the second cell and (e) determining the optimized configuration of the telecommunication network based on the first and on the second information. It is further described a base station and a central network element, which are adapted to carry out the above described method.

    • It is described a method for partitioning radio transmission resources within a telecommunication network. The method includes (a) preparing a handover of a user equipment from a source access point being assigned to a source side of the telecommunication network to a target access point being assigned to a target side of the telecommunication network, (b) transferring a pre-announcement message from the source side to the target side indicating the handover, wherein the pre-announcement message is indicative for the amount of data traffic being associated with the user equipment, and (c) partitioning the radio transmission resources on the target side based on the pre-announcement message. It is further described a source side network element and a target side network element for controlling a partitioning of radio transmission resources within a telecommunication network. Furthermore, a computer program for controlling the above described method is described.

A threshold value is set and provided for distribution to communication terminals, wherein the threshold value is related to a relative value concerning the availability of remaining power at a communication terminal. Provision of the threshold to the communication terminals is commanded, and a power report from the communication terminals is also commanded, if the relative value concerning the availability of remaining power at a communication terminal is above the threshold value. Eventually, a measurement report of those communication terminals is commanded, which have reported a relative value concerning the availability of remaining power above the threshold value, wherein this commanding includes an instruction to conduct and report measurements related to the self organization of a communication network in which a communication terminal is connected.
