    • A method for setting a path by a base station in a mobile communication system and a system thereof are provided. The base station measures quality of a link directly connected to the mobile terminal using the received signal, if a signal is directly received from a mobile terminal. If the signal is received via at least one relaying node, the base station calculates quality of an entire path determined taking quality of each link into account, depending on the signal received via the at least one relaying node. The base station compares the calculated quality of the entire path with the quality of the directly connected link, and determines an optimal path according to the comparison result. The base station sends a relaying request message to a relaying node corresponding to the optimal path. Upon receipt of a relaying response message from the relaying node, the base station configures new broadcast information and broadcasts the newly configured broadcast information.

    • A handover method of a mobile station (MS) in a mobile communication system having MSs and radio access stations (RASs), each of which includes an IEEE 802.16 standard-based medium access control (MAC) layer and an Internet protocol version 6 (IPv6)-based IP layer. The handover method includes the step of gathering IP network information of a neighbor RAS through a message exchange with a previous RAS.     • A communication system is provided which includes different kinds of base stations such as a macro base station and a femto base station. This system may execute a method for controlling unfavorably occurring interference due to such different kinds of base stations. In the method, the femto base station sends a femtocell interference indication (FII) report to the resource allocation control unit when user equipment is connected to the femto base station. The FII report contains a request for the allocation of resources to avoid interference. Then the resource allocation control unit establishes a femto interference coordination (FIC) zone according to the received FII report. The FIC zone indicates a particular region used to define resources allocated to the femto base station. The resource allocation control unit may be the macro base station or a self-organizing network (SON) server.

    • In a wireless communication network including several macro cells each having several femto cells, when a trigger event occurs for a measurement report, user equipment creates a measurement report message which includes a cell identifier of a target femto cell for the measurement report in response to the trigger event, measuring results for the target femto cell, and a neighbor cell identifier having a cell identifier of at least one neighbor femto cell around the target femto cell. Then the user equipment transmits the measurement report message to an evolved node B (eNB). When receiving the measurement report message, the eNB distinguishes the target femto cell from others in the femto cells based on the neighbor cell identifier in the received measurement report message.
