    • The gas dispensing apparatus comprises a réservoir (2) having an upper wall (5), a well (6) passing through the upper wall, and a gas dispensing device (8) located at least partially in the well (6) and having an external rigid portion (8a) facing the inner wall of the well. The gas dispensing apparatus comprises a résilient tubular élément (22) fitted into the well (6). The rigid portion (8a) of the device (8) is inserted therein. The well has an edge (34) extending outwardly and against which a stopping portion (30) of the tubular élément is flexed under action of the rigid portion of the device inserted into the tubular élëment. The flexed lower portion preferably defines an annular protubérance that prevents upward movement of the tubular élément relative to the well. A gas lighter of simplified construction and suitable for a brittle réservoir material such as amorphous polymers is obtained.

    • A selectively actuatable lighter device is disclosed which includes a body defining reservoir for containing a combustible gaseous medium such as butane, and having a valve arranged to be selectively actuated between a normally closed position and an open position which permits the exit of the gaseous medium. Such lighter can selectively produce sparks at a location proximate to the gaseous medium exit to ignite the gaseous medium. Such lighter device embodies a resiliently releasable latch which normally prevents actuation of a valve actuator to the open position thereby preventing actuation of the valve. The latch is selectively movable to a position out of interference with the valve actuator, so that the gaseous medium may be released and ignited by the sparks. The latch is resiliently structured and mounted such that once a flame is produced and the valve actuator is released, the latch returns to its closed or latched position to prevent actuation of the valve to the open position by prevention of the pivotal motion of the valve actuator. To "re-use" the lighter, the latch must again be moved to an unlatched position so that the valve actuator can be opened for subsequent ignition of the gaseous medium.

    • A self-supported optical correlator has a first holder having two opposite ends, one of the opposite ends being provided with anchor points, the other end being provided with a light source. The correlator also has a second holder having two opposite ends, one of which is provided with anchor points, the other being provided with a light receiving element, and a plurality of intermediary holders, each having two opposite ends provided with anchor points, at least one of the intermediary holders being provided with a spatial light modulator for projecting an image and another of the intermediary holders being provided with another spatial light modulator for projecting a filter. Each of the intermediary holders is provided with optical components secured within the holders. The said anchor points are adapted to secure the first, second and intermediary holders together linearly end to end; so that when the intermediary holders are assembled end to end, and the first holder is assembled at one extremity and the other holder is assembled at another extremity, the resulting assembly forms said optical correlator. The optical components are toleranced, and the anchor point serve to assemble a structure which does not require additional adjustments.
