摘要： An apparatus is designed to protect a connection between a plug of a first electrical cord and a socket of a second electrical cord from moisture. The apparatus consists of a first housing portion and a second housing portion that, when mated, form an interior region, a first aperture configured to receive the first electrical cord, and a second aperture configured to receive the second electrical cord. Four cross-wise portions are located in the interior region. The first and second cross-wise portions are attached to the first housing portion and are positioned proximate the first and second apertures, respectively. The third and fourth cross-wise portions are attached to the second housing portion and are positioned proximate the first and second apertures, respectively. When the housing portions are mated, the first cross-wise portion abuts the third cross-wise portion and the second cross-wise portion abuts the fourth cross-wise portion.

The compression portions each have two recessed areas. When the housing portions are in a closed position a hollow region is formed to cover mated electrical cord plugs. The cable apertures form seals against electrical cords running to the electrical cord plugs.

摘要： According to techniques of the present application, an apparatus for covering at least a portion of a cord includes a lower portion and an upper portion. The lower portion may include a bowl region having an upper rim. The lower portion may also include flexible tabs that substantially surround or completely surround the upper rim. Each of the flexible tabs may extend outwardly or downwardly from the upper rim. The upper portion may have a lower rim that extends below the outer edges of each of the flexible tabs when the upper portion is engaged to the lower portion. The upper portion may contact each of the flexible tabs when the upper portion is engaged to the lower portion. The apparatus may include a securing member extending downwardly from the lower portion to secure the apparatus to a resting surface.
