    • An uplink signal receiving method and apparatus using successive interference cancellation (SIC) in a wireless transmission system based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) are provided. The uplink signal receiving method includes storing in a provisional storage each uplink intermediate frequency (IF) signal received through an antenna of a base station and subjected to analog-to-digital conversion; analyzing the uplink IF signals stored in the provisional storage and determining a terminal to be restored; converting a data symbol of the determined terminal to be restored from a time domain into a frequency domain; performing channel/phase correction on the converted data symbol; demodulating the corrected data symbol; determining if there is a terminal to be restored; and when there is a terminal to be restored, removing the demodulated data symbol of the terminal to be restored from the temporarily stored uplink IF signals and then updating the uplink IF signals; thereby, to reducing interference between sub-carriers of the terminals caused by deviation of a center frequency of the sub-carriers of terminals constituting the uplink signal in the OFDMA-based wireless transmission system.

    • An access point and a method supporting multiple authentication policies for a WLAN are disclosed. The access point according to the present invention includes an authentication policy detector for detecting an authentication policy of a terminal from a signal transmitted by the terminal, a plurality of authentication modules for performing the authentication procedures corresponding to different authentication policies, and an authentication processor for performing an appropriate authentication procedure by selecting the corresponding authentication module according to the authentication policy detected by the authentication policy detector. The access point and method for supporting multiple authentication policies according to the present invention avoid duplication of network elements for authentication by providing an authentication service for terminals using different authentication policies with a single access point.

    • A medium access control method and apparatus and program storage device in a CSMA/CA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance) based wireless LAN (Local Area Network) classifies stations in a CSMA/CA based wireless LAN system into a number of groups according to a transmission priority to assign a different DIFS (Distributed Coordination Function InterFrame Space) to each group.
