    • A subject can be tracking using a plurality of physical video monitoring or image acquisition devices deployed in a delimited area. A map represents the delimited area. Icons representing the physical monitoring devices can be placed and configured on the map representing the delimited area. Some or all of the placed and configured video monitoring devices can be logically linked together to form scenes. The video feed from the physical video monitoring devices may be recorded in stable storage. A layout for display of the video feeds may be selected. Upon playing the video feed, whether live or recorded, a subject can be tracked through the delimited area by selecting one of the video monitoring devices in one of the available scenes.

    • Identifiers of items generated in response to a query are each ranked in a way that considers the other identified items. Topologies are generated that correspond to features of the identified items. Each topology may be a Markov chain that includes a node for each identified item and directed edges between the nodes. Each directed edge between a node pair has an associated transition probability that represents the likelihood that a hypothetical user would change their preference from a first node in the pair to the second node in the pair when considering the feature associated with the topology. The topologies are weighted according to the relative importance of the features that correspond to the topologies. The weighted topologies are used to generate a stationary distribution of the identified items, and the identified items are ranked using the stationary distribution.

    • A method for analyzing queues using video analytics is provided. The method includes receiving a video comprising a plurality of images of a scene. The scene includes a queue region and an operation region. The method also includes processing at least a first image of the plurality of images to determine an occurrence of a first event associated with the operation region, and processing at least a second image of the plurality of images to determine an occurrence of a second event associated with the operation region. The method further includes determining an operation time based on an amount of time between the first event and the second event, processing at least a third image of the plurality of images to determine a quantity of entities in the queue region, and determining a wait time based on the operation time and the quantity of entities in the queue region.
