    • A fecal occult blood testing system includes a testing unit that has an initial storage chamber, a secondary storage/mixing chamber, a window, a test strip viewable through the window, a vial containing analyte disposed within the testing unit, and a specimen collector. Prior to testing, the specimen collector may be positioned within the initial storage chamber. After specimen collection, the specimen collector is positioned within the secondary storage/mixing chamber. The tip of the specimen collector pierces a sealing cap on the vial so that the collected specimen mixes with the analyte in a channel formed in the testing unit. Once the specimen and analyte mixture is formed, the test strip absorbs and wicks the mixture to the test strip. The test strip detects and indicates, when viewed through the window, the presence or absence of fecal occult blood.

    • The present invention comprises systems and methods for production planning analysis using discrete event simulation methods. In one embodiment, a system includes a first software module to receive process definition data for the production process that organizes the data into a suitable formatted input file that defines the process. A second software module performs a discrete event simulation on the input file and generates an output file. A third software module generates at least one user accessible file from the output file. In another embodiment, a method of analyzing a manufacturing process includes receiving process definition data for the manufacturing process, and generating an input file from the process definition data. The method further includes processing the input file in a discrete event simulation (DES) engine to generate selected statistical data for the process, and generating an output file that includes the selected statistical data.

    • An email proxy server system gives the user access to all of their email accounts through a unified port. The proxy server maintains a mail registration database associating the user's ID with multiple email accounts, which may be hosted on different Internet providers and otherwise. The email messages stored on the email hosts may be in POP3 format, which configuration the proxy server imitates to give the user an impression of transparent access to all of their email accounts. Because the ability to access individual mail boxes is unbound from particular internet addresses, one user may maintain any number of email mail boxes at different hosting servers, and change those addresses, without having to reprogram client, server, and other software. Moreover, the presentation of the integrated interface of the invention permits system administrators to attach service modules, such as billing and other packages directly to the proxy server to serve each of the different email accounts, without having to tailor those individual services to individual hosts hardware.
