    • A method, system, and media are provided for delivery of content from a communication device. A temporal shifting server enables delivery of temporal shifting messages. The temporal shifting server checks conditions associated with a communication network connected to the communication device and determines whether conditions of the communication network support delivery of content stored in a large file. If the communication network can support the large file, the large file is communicated over the communication network to a recipient and a copy may be retained by the temporal shifting server. If the communication network is unable to transmit the large file, the temporal shifting server generates an identifier for the content, transmits the identifier to the communication device, receives a small file that stores a version of the content, and stores the small file.

    • A base station identification system comprises a processing system and a memory device. The processing system is configured to initiate a modulo count to indicate mobility of the wireless communication device, determine a last base station identifier for a last base station serving the wireless communication device, compare the last base station identifier to a set of previous base station identifiers for previous base stations serving the wireless communication device, if the last base station identifier is in the set of previous base station identifiers, assign a previous modulo number in the modulo count to the last base station identifier, and if the last base station identifier is not in the set of previous base station identifiers, assign a next modulo number in the modulo count to the last base station identifier, and add the last base station identifier to the set of previous base station identifiers.

    • A method and medium are provided for automatically updating user profiles based on authentication failures associated with network-access requests from mobile communications devices. A mobile communications device requests access to a mobile network and the access is rejected due to an authentication failure. Upon communicating a rejection message to the mobile communications device, the authentication server communicates a network-access rejection notification to a user-profile updating server that resets network-generated authentication credentials and provides updated profiles containing reset credentials to a provisioning server. Subsequent access requests from the mobile device are handled through a dedicated profile-provisioning home agent until the device is updated, at which time network access can be granted through a more conventional home agent.

    • Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for delivering messages to destination devices are provided. In embodiments, a message is associated with a destination identifier that identifies a destination to deliver the message. The message might be communicated to one or more destination devices via various paths depending on the destination identifier. In one embodiment, a message associated with a device destination identifier is delivered to a destination device via a direct component while a message associated with a geographical or categorical destination identifier is delivered to a destination device via a broadcast component. Upon delivery to a destination device, in instances where the message is associated with a categorical destination identifier, the device might discern whether to present the message based on whether the message is of interest to the device or a user associated therewith. The message can be presented via a short-message-service-based user interface.
