摘要： In one aspect, a method for managing streaming of video content to a client device includes providing the video content to a content distribution network for storage in a plurality of geographically separated resources of the content distribution network, dynamically selecting an advertisement media clip based on statistical information associated with a user of the client device, and receiving, from the client device via a packet-based telecommunication network, signaling to have the stored video content streamed to the client device. In response to the received signaling, the method includes transmitting to the client device via the packet-based telecommunication network and in one or more files having a format compatible with a media player on the client device, (i) an identification of a first resource of the content distribution network available to facilitate streaming of the stored video content to the client device, the identification being dependent at least in part on a relationship between a geographic location of the client device and a geographic location of at least one of the resources of the content distribution network and (ii) an identification of an advertising server, the identification of the advertising server being dependent at least in part on a relationship between the geographic location of the client device and a geographic location of the advertising server, wherein the one or more files, when processed by the client device, cause the client device to communicate with the first resource of the content distribution network and the advertising server to cause the stored video to be streamed to the client device by first resource of the content distribution network and cause the selected advertisement media clip to be streamed from the advertising server to the client device.

An indication is received from the first mobile device that one or more of the computer applications resident on the first mobile device are to be resident on the second mobile device. An identifier corresponding to the user account is received from the second mobile device. The method, system, and computer program product determine, based on the capabilities of the second mobile device, which of the computer applications included in the inventory are compatible with the second mobile device, and, after receiving, from the second mobile device, the identifier corresponding to the user account, transmit, to the second mobile device, the computer applications included in the inventory that were determined to be compatible with the second mobile device.

摘要： A system for providing mobile content to a mobile communication device includes a first computing system including one or more servers to provide, via a communications network, a graphical user interface at a second computing system, the graphical user interface (i) enabling the user of the second computing system to edit a digital file to create the mobile content and (ii) prompting and enabling a user of the second computing system to provide a phone number associated with the mobile communication device, the mobile communication device being separate and remote from the first computing system and the second computing system. The first computing system receives, from the second computing system via the communications network, the mobile content and the phone number associated with the mobile communication device. The first computing system uses a the phone number received from the second computing system to cause the delivery of the mobile content to the mobile communication device via a wireless data network in a format compatible with one or more operational parameters of the mobile communication device, the one or more operational parameters including at least one of a mobile communication device type and a software platform type, wherein the using of the received phone number to cause the delivery of the mobile content to the mobile communication device is performed without the mobile communication device identifying the one or more operational parameters to the first computing system or the second computing system.

One or more of the plurality of servers receive video content from a video content owner and store the received video content in a plurality of geographically separated resources of a content distribution network. The one or more of the plurality of servers receive from a client device via a packet-based telecommunication network signaling to have the stored video content streamed to the client device from one or more of the resources of the content distribution network. In response to the received signaling, the one or more of the plurality of servers transmit to the client device, via the packet-based telecommunication network and in one or more files, each of the one or more files being in a format compatible with a media player on the client device, (i) an identification of one or more of the resources of the content distribution network available to facilitate streaming of one or more segments of the stored video content to the client device, the identification being dependent at least in part on a relationship between a geographic location of the client device and geographic locations of the resources of the content distribution network, and (ii) an identification of an advertising server, the identification of the advertising server being dependent at least in part on a relationship between the geographic location of the client device and a geographic location of the advertising server, wherein the one or more files, when processed by the client device cause the client device to communicate with the identified one or more resources of the content distribution network and the advertising server to cause the one or more segments of the stored video to be streamed to the client device by the identified one or more resources of the content distribution network and cause one or more advertisements to be streamed from the advertising server to the client device.
