    • A system and method of offering media content is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving a selection of a disaggregated media content item from a user computer at a server via an online site that offers a catalog of items. The method also includes identifying a catalog item related to the selected disaggregated media content item. Further, the method includes displaying a detail interface via the online site, the detail interface including details related to the disaggregated media content item and a recommendation of the identified catalog item. A graphical user interface (GUI) is disclosed that includes a song-level detail page including a plurality of details related to an individual song available for download via an online site. The GUI includes at least one recommendation of at least one other item associated with a performer of the individual song, where the other item(s) are offered via the online site.

    • Techniques are described regarding providing consumers with devices on which digital content appropriate for those consumers has been loaded, such as digital media player devices or other consumer devices that are able to play or otherwise present digital media loaded on those devices. In some situations, when a consumer orders such a digital media player or other consumer device from a merchant (or other distributor of the device), the merchant preloads a copy of the device with digital media content before delivering that device to the consumer or other specified recipient, such as digital media items that are automatically selected in a personalized manner for the recipient to whom the device will be sent.     • An electronic marketplace for used digital objects is disclosed. Digital objects including e-books, audio, video, computer applications, etc., may be placed in a personalized data store upon purchase from a merchant. Placement may be manual or occur automatically. A server prompt or downloader application may be used to set preferences for manual or automatic placement. Placement may be direct or indirect. Direct placement occurs upon placement of the digital object in the personalized data store directly by the merchant. Indirect placement occurs upon transfer of the digital object to an intermediate storage location, such as the user's electronic device, then placing the digital object in the personalized data store. The user, via streaming, download, or other transfer, may then access content placed in the personalized data store.
