    • Embodiments provide a method and apparatus for performing time division duplex communication, such as may be performed over a wireless communications network. In the embodiments a first circuit pathway is used to transmit a first radio frequency signal in a transmission mode and a second circuit pathway is used to receive a second radio frequency signal in a reception mode. In the reception mode, the first radio frequency signal is switched to an alternate circuit pathway. This may be performed by a radio frequency integrated circuit or by other control circuitry. Switching to an alternate circuit pathway reduces leakage of the first radio frequency signal into the second radio frequency signal.

    • A device 22 includes a communication system transceiver 40 for exchanging signals in a first frequency band and a receiver 30 for receiving signals in a second frequency band. In order to improve the performance of the receiver. A processing portion 34 of the devices detects the presence of signals interfering with the signals in the second frequency band and also determines a timing pattern for interfering signals based on a timing information which is indicative of the timing for transmissions employed by the transceiver 40. A manipulation of signals reaching the receiver 30 during intervals defined by the determined timing pattern is then done, in order to reduce a performance degradation due to interfering signals originating from a transmitter 21 employing the same timing for transmissions as the transceiver 40. A corresponding method is also disclosed.

    • A device 1 comprises a communication system transmitter 30 for transmitting signals via a radio interface in a first frequency band. The device further comprises a receiver 10 for receiving signals via a radio interface in a second frequency band. The receiver 10 includes an attenuating component 13 for attenuating signals received by the receiver 10. Moreover, the device comprises a controlling portion 50 setting an attenuation which is applied by the attenuating component 13 to received signals to a higher value, in case the communication system transmitter 30 transmits signals with a power level exceeding a certain value, and setting an attenuation which is applied by the attenuating component 13 to received signals to a lower value, in case no signal is transmitted by the communication system transmitter 30.     • A device 20 includes a receiver 21 for receiving and processing signals at least in a first frequency band and an antenna 216 which is connected to the receiver 21. In order to improve the performance of such a receiver, the device 20 in addition includes a tuning component 217 for shifting a frequency response of the antenna 216 from the first frequency band to a second frequency band.
