    • A behind the ear (BTE) hearing instrument has a coupling between a housing and a sound tube. The sound tube is removably connected to the housing by a coupling connected to the sound tube. A sound-tube-side coupling component has a sound channel leading to the sound tube and a housing-side coupling component has a sound channel leading to a receiver, which, when the coupling is closed, are connected to each other by an acoustic seal. The coupling has a lug and an abutment, which connect the sound-tube-side coupling component to the housing-side coupling component in a form-fit and movable manner, in a spatial direction relative to each other. A locking device is provided that, when it is closed, impedes a movement of the coupling components relative to each other. The lug including the corresponding abutment and the locking device are disposed spatially separated from each other in the coupling.

    • An antenna system is provided for hearing instruments to be worn in the auditory canal. A hearing instrument has a data transmission system improved in respect of transmission bandwidth with no increase or only an insignificant increase in space and energy requirement. The antenna system has an antenna with a preferred send and receive spatial direction, and a hearing instrument component which emits noise radiation predominantly in a noise radiation spatial direction. The antenna and the hearing instrument component are disposed so that the send and receive spatial direction and the noise radiation spatial direction are oriented transverse to one another such that a coupling-in of noise radiation into the antenna is reduced. The reduction of the noise couplings into the antenna make possible a higher send and receive bandwidth, with the installation volume and energy requirement remaining the same. The hearing instrument component is a receiver.

    • An ear piece is formed for insertion and placement in an external auditory canal. The ear piece has an inflatable balloon which, when it is inflated, expands and braces against the walls of the auditory canal. When it is deflated, it may be withdrawn from the auditory canal. The ear piece may be used in connection with a hearing aid, an MP3 player, a cell phone, or the like. A pump inflates the balloon and a valve controls the selective deflation of the balloon. The air intake to the pump is protected against contamination from inside the auditory canal. For that purpose it is formed inside a housing the air inlet of which is as far outside the ear canal as possible. In the case of a behind-the-ear application, the intake opening is formed in the housing that is to be placed behind the user's ear.
