摘要： A surgical stabilizer arm ends with a hybrid quick connect mechanism capable of holding tissue manipulator tools of either the ball type or the shaft type. The single integrated mechanism allows users to choose the type of attachment mechanism they prefer on a case-by-case basis. The mechanism has a spring-loaded sleeve that can be pulled back to enable an attachment (manipulator tool) to be inserted. A ball-style attachment is inserted through an opening in a grip cage, and a shaft-style attachment is inserted into an actuator (e.g., spring detent) through the claws of the grip cage. When the sleeve is released, a compression spring pushed the actuator forward, either pressing the ball attachment against the grip cage or pressing the spring detent against the shaft attachment to partially lock the attachment in place. Tightening a tension cable increases the pressure to fully lock the attachment in place.

摘要： A heart rotator tool uses a malleable guide rail with a distal end adapted to conform to a desired shape along a surface of a heart tissue. A suction cup is adapted for grasping the heart tissue. A slider is slidably mounted on the guide rail which is flexible to conform to the shape of the guide rail while sliding, the slider having a distal end connected to the suction cup and having a proximal end for providing a handgrip. A vacuum tube is joined to the suction cup and carried by the slider. The vacuum tube is adapted to selectively (i.e., selectably couple a vacuum source to the suction cup. After arranging the guide rail around the heart and sliding the suction cup to a desired position, the vacuum is activated and subsequent sliding of the suction cup via movement of the handgrip rotates the heart as desired.

An adjustment disc is coupled to the links, wherein rotation of the adjustment disc varies a radial position of the links to modify an overlapping of the blade segments in order to select a corresponding size of the closed periphery.

摘要： A vessel dissector for harvesting a target vessel from a donor has a generally cylindrical tip body with a sloping channel formed along a longitudinal side. A channel bottom provides a channel depth that decreases from a distal channel end to a proximal channel end. The tip body has a crescent-shaped forward lip extending distally from the channel. An arcuate collar is slidably disposed in an arcuate recess within the tip body to selectably bridge the channel at the distal end of the channel to form a ring profile with the forward lip. A first ferromagnetic heating element is disposed along a radially outward surface of the forward lip. A second ferromagnetic heating element is disposed on a distal edge of the arcuate collar. The first and second ferromagnetic heating elements are adapted to be energized simultaneously to make a vasiform cut including a pedicle around the target vessel.

摘要： A surgical device provides a retractor tool or rake with integral lighting. The device includes a retractor body having a rake finger at one end and a handle at its other end. A light source is embedded in the rake finger. A power unit supplies a current to the light source, and a cable interconnects the retractor body and the power unit. Sterile packaging is adapted to contain the surgical device, wherein the sterile packaging has a deactivation feature for preventing the supplying of current from the power unit to the light source while the device is stored within the sterile packaging, and wherein removal of the device from the sterile packaging results in automatically supplying the current to the light source.

摘要： A device for joining individual leaflets for repairing a cardiac valve of a patient has a base and projection fingers rising from the base to support adjacent leaflets for tacking together by sewing overlapping edges of adjacent leaflets prior to emplacement into the patient. The invention provides a cutting tool for excising leaflets from a pericardial tissue sheet according to predetermined sizes and shapes. A leaflet having a desired contour and size is obtained by pressing the tool formed as a cutter block against the tissue sheet. A set of blocks can be provided wherein each cutter block has an outer edge following a respective contour and size for a leaflet, and wherein the outer edge includes a raised cutting edge for pressing through the pericardial tissue sheet. The blocks can be held in a press for assisting in pushing the cutting edge through the tissue.

摘要： An endoscopic harvesting device removes a vessel from a body. The vessel has an anterior side closest to the skin. A sheath extends in a longitudinal direction with a dissector tip for advancing along the vessel substantially along the anterior side to create a flanking tunnel spaced away from the vessel. A ring-shaped blade is mounted to the sheath and is disposed in a plane substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and proximal of the dissector tip. The blade forms a lateral loop to encircle the vessel from the flanking tunnel. The blade comprises an inductively-heated ferromagnetic member configured to make a vasiform cut including a pedicle around the vessel as the sheath advances.

摘要： Apparatus for marking a blood vessel for use as a bypass graft in a patient includes a preparation plate for supporting an isolated blood vessel that is in a state for anastomosing to the patient. A stencil plate is configured for overlying the blood vessel and preparation plate, wherein the stencil plate has an opening adapted to expose a portion of the blood vessel to a dye applied through the opening. The stencil plate around the opening is adapted to shield the blood vessel from the dye. A dye applicator is configured to direct a metered amount of the dye through the opening and onto the exposed portion of the blood vessel, preferably as a mist. Preferably, the opening is a lineal slot for creating a guide line extending longitudinally along an outer wall of the blood vessel.
