    • A reservation processing is executed according to the configuration request to VPN and network device to inform a user's terminal of scheduled period. In a network system including plural network devices for transmitting a packet and a management server, plural logical networks (VPNs) are formed on the plural network devices. The management server receives a configuration request including configuration data for VPN and configuration desired time from a user's terminal to generate the configuration data for the network device from the configuration data for the VPN. The management server refers to a configuration reservation table to confirm whether free time is available in the same period about all target network devices. If free time is available, the management server makes configuration reservation and configures the target network device in the reserved time. The management server notifies the user's terminal of the reserved time.

    • When starting subscribe for acquiring presence information, there is no need of acquiring an identifier of the presentity or an identifier of the group, which have been conventionally indispensable. There is provided a state information management system including a management server for managing state information on a plurality of terminals. Instead of specifying a presentity, a condition of the presentity, such as a value of presence, is specified for subscribing. For example, when subscribe is established by specifying the identical current position as a condition, subscribe for the user matched with the condition is automatically started and the presence can be acquired. When the presence of a partner or user himself/herself is changed to a different value, the presentity is automatically changed.

    • An extension telephone using an ordinary telephone circuit cannot be coordinated with a data terminal connected by an IP network. An extension telephone using an ordinary telephone circuit has none of the convenient functions of an IP telephone, such as implementing outgoing/incoming call data management and telephone book management on a PC. A telephone terminal using an ordinary telephone circuit and a data terminal in an IP network can however be coordinated by reflecting telephone calls and call signal details in an IP network by means of a telephone adapter which can send and receive IP network data and call signals using IP network data as a trigger. A user of an ordinary telephone system can easily coordinate a telephone with a data terminal, and even if there is a “modernization time lag” between the data system and telephone system, or the IP telephone system is introduced gradually, an environment is created whereby all users can make maximum use of coordination between the data system and telephone system.

    • Disclosed here is a method for sending/receiving a message through a session control server disposed in each of hierarchical layers of a network system having a hierarchical structure. To achieve the above object, each of the session control servers is provided with operation mode confirming means for confirming a set operation mode and fixed destination solution means for setting an address so as to relay each received message to a specific address in accordance with the set operation mode. The session control server is also provided with location solution means for registering/managing a public address to be opened to external by a user and a user address given in the sub-domain to which the user belongs actually. Because a parent domain address can be used as an address to be opened to external for operating the session control server, the problems to occur due to a change of the user belonging sub-domain can be hidden from external and the parent domain can manage message traffics collectively.
