    • The present invention is directed to a method and system to be performed by a WSRP consumer portal server for accessing a remote network resource addressed by a respective resource URL in a web portal infrastructure comprising at least a WSRP Consumer Portal connectable to a client Browser requesting the remote network resource, and a remote communication partner. A method for accessing remote network resources, a WSRP consumer portal includes: in response to an incoming client request for a web page, determining if remote portlets are comprised of said requested web page; for remote portlets sending a request for a respective portlet markup to a producer of said remote portlets; receiving a response to said request comprising a markup document including encoded representations of network URLs of a respective remote network resource; searching said response for producer encoded resource URLs of remote network resources, resulting in a set of found URLs; generating for each producer encoded resource URL a set of rewritten URLs, wherein each rewritten URL provides an access performable by said client to said remote resource; generating from said received markup document a new markup document comprising an executable code fragment, having the function to be executed by the client to select a specific rewritten URL out of said set of rewritten URLs; and sending a newly assembled web page comprising said new markup document for remote portlets and an unchanged markup document for non-remote portlets.

    • The present invention relates to a method and respective system for binding a portlet into a web portal infrastructure comprising at least one portal and a plurality of portlets. A method in accordance with an embodiment includes: storing a portlet profile data structure, wherein the portlet profile data structure is associated with a portlet and is deployed at a portal server, and wherein the portlet profile data structure declares a portlet class and at least one portlet characteristic; storing a portlet binding policy data structure, which is associated with the portlet class and is deployed at a portal server, wherein the portlet binding policy data structure declares relations or conditions specifying the at least one portlet characteristic; during processing of an incoming request for a portlet, automatically selecting the portlet class, all stored portlet profile data structures, and the portlet binding policy data structure associated with the requested portlet; performing a cross-checking of the relations or conditions of the selected binding policy data structure against the portlet characteristics of the selected portlet profile data structures; automatically selecting a favorite portlet out of the selected portlets, which best matches best the cross-checking; and invoking the favorite portlet for rendering in response to the incoming request.

    • The present invention refers to a method and system to determine automatically a user specific relevance score of a message within a messaging system in a client-server environment, the message being provided with message specific meta-information. The disclosed method includes analyzing by means of an analyzing component of the client-server environment the meta-information of the message with respect to correlations of the message with other messages, recording and classifying the correlations of the message with the other messages, deriving from such identified and classified correlations a message model reflecting the correlations of the message with the other messages, the messages being represented by accordingly linked nodes, monitoring by means of a monitoring component of the client-server environment how the message is processed, calculating by means of a calculating component a numerical relevance score for the message, the calculation using a user specific ranking scheme and being based on the message model and on the monitored processing, and assigning the calculated numerical relevance score by means of an assigning component of the client-server environment to the respective node within the message model.

    • The present invention relates to a method performed by an application server for configuring an application element during deployment in a network ready to be accessed by a remote client application via a network protocol, wherein an application server processes a plurality of application components. In order to make the method less-error-prone, the method includes: receiving a deployment request for the application element, wherein the request includes configuration parameters that are specific for an instance of the application element; extracting the instance-specific configuration parameters from the request; automatically retrieving further configuration parameters associated with the application element from a datastore accessible to the application server; merging the instance-specific configuration parameters and the further configuration parameters; preparing a data object by inserting the merged configuration parameters; retrieving from a datastore configuration parameters of application instances that are currently deployed in the application server; inserting the configuration parameters into the data object; invoking a data mining based deviation detection algorithm passing the data object; receiving an output of the deviation detection algorithm; if at least one of the configuration parameters associated with the application element is marked as a deviation, issuing an indication to a user; otherwise creating an application element instance; and storing a description of the application element instance and the configuration parameters of the application element instance in the datastore.
