摘要： An electrical isolation process, includes receiving a substrate including a layer of carbon-rich material on silicon, and selectively removing regions of the substrate to form mutually spaced islands of the carbon-rich material on the silicon. The layer of carbon-rich material on silicon includes the layer of carbon-rich material on an electrically conductive layer of silicon on an electrically insulating material. Selectively removing regions of the substrate includes removing the carbon-rich material and at least a portion of the electrically conductive layer of silicon from those regions to provide electrical isolation between the islands of carbon-rich material on silicon.

摘要： An object tracking device includes a short-term processing portion and a long short-term processing portion that are implemented by circuitry and work in a collaborative manner to track an object. The short-term processing portion includes a filter that tracks the object based on short-term memory and spatiotemporal consistency. The long short-term processing portion performs key-point matching-tracking and estimation based on a key-point database in order to track the object. A controller determines an output of the object tracking device based on the processing conducted by the short-term and long short-term processing portions of the tracking device, respectively.

The channels may represent patient chest movement and may be generated with a sensor, such as a contactless sensor that may sense movement with radio-frequency signals. In the methods/systems, the in-phase and quadrature channels may be processed, such as in a processor(s), using relative demodulation to generate cardio-respiratory parameter estimate(s). Optionally, the processing produces a jerk signal that may be filtered for producing a heart rate estimate, such as from zero-crossings of the filtered signal. Optionally, the processing produces a chest velocity signal that may be filtered for producing a respiratory rate estimate, such as from zero-crossings of the filtered signal. Optionally, a respiratory volume, such as tidal volume, may be estimated from an intrapulmonary pressure signal generated by applying a function to a chest displacement signal where the function relates intrapulmonary pressure and chest displacement.

摘要： The present invention relates generally to a population of cells genetically modified to produce insulin in a glucose responsive manner and uses thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to a population of cells genetically modified to produce insulin in response to physiologically relevant levels of glucose and uses thereof. The cells of the present invention are useful in a wide variety of applications, in particular in the context of therapeutic and prophylactic regimes directed to the treatment of diabetes and/or the amelioration of symptoms associated with diabetes, based on the transplantation of the cells of the present invention into mammals requiring treatment. Also facilitated is the design of in vitro based screening systems for testing the therapeutic effectiveness and/or toxicity of potential adjunctive treatment regimes.

The toe assembly includes a magnetic adhesion system transitionable between an engageable state, wherein said adhesion system is configured to actively hold said too to the surface on a plane of engagement thereby anchoring said foot to the structure, and a disengageable state to allow detachment of said foot from said surface. The adhesion system includes a magnetic field generator for projecting a magnetic field outwardly from the plane of engagement toward said engaged surface when the adhesion system is in the engageable state, to thereby generate a magnetic attractive force between the module and a magnetic target material within or beneath the surface of the structure.
