    • Tift 94 is a vigorous triploid (2n=3x=27 chromosomes) which has use on golf course fairways and tees, athletic fields, lawns, commercial landscape sites, and other turf areas where a fine-textured, low growing turf is desired. The grass produces less upright growth and has shorter and narrower leaves, and shorter internodes than Midiron from which it was developed and Tifway, two commercially available cultivars. It produces more shoots per node than Midiron. It has better color and turf quality than Midiron.

    • A novel microwave power divider is disclosed that is a combination of an N-port junction circulator and a novel isolator-mismatch device for each circulator port other than one input port and divides microwave signal power incident to the input port into any desired ratio among the output ports and isolates all the ports from microwave power reflected back toward the divider after being progagated through the divider and thus prevents interaction among line devices, e.g., amplifier units, that are fed by the output ports. Also a novel microwave power combiner is disclosed that is a combination of an N-port junction circulator and a novel isolator-reflector device for each port other than one output port to combine at the one output port identical microwave signals or microwave signals that differ in frequency or phase incident to the isolator-reflector devices. The microwave power combiner, like the microwave power divider, provides isolation among the signal transmission lines. Also a novel solid-state microwave power amplifier is disclosed that includes the novel power divider, a solid-state power amplifier unit for each power fraction from the outputs of the divider and the novel power combiner for the amplified outputs of the power divider.

    • Apparatus for momentarily desensitizing a proximity fuze in response to an impact with a raindrop. A rain impact sensor located in the nose cone of the fuze generates an electronic cutoff signal when the fuze hits a raindrop while in flight. The impact with the raindrop may also generate a spurious firing signal which can cause the firing circuit of the fuze to prefunction. The cut-off signal generated by the rain impact sensor is amplified, stretched and delivered to the firing circuit to effectively blank out any spurious firing signal received therein. The rain impact sensor may be embodied by a piezoelectric crystal mounted in the nose cone of the fuze, or a mechanical switch for sensing the shock wave generated by the impact of the raindrop, or a capacitive measuring bridge circuit that becomes unbalanced in response to the impact of the raindrop. The spurious firing signal is delayed before it reaches the firing circuit in order that the cut-off signal generated by the rain impact sensor will reach the firing circuit prior to any such spurious firing signal.
