    • To provide an optical connector that enables the reduction in the number of parts and can be easily attached to an optical cable, a concave portion 18 for a ferrule is formed in a plug housing 6, and a ferrule 3 is inserted from the side of a collar portion 10 into the concave portion 18 for a ferrule. A hook portion 28 for a ferrule is provided in a protruding condition inside the plug housing 6. The collar portion 10 is guided by the hook portion 28 for a ferrule, which has been elastically deformed, and moves toward a bottom surface 26 of the concave portion 18 for a ferrule. Where the collar portion 10 reaches a space between the bottom surface 26 and the hook portion 28 for a ferrule, the hook portion 28 for a ferrule is elastically restored. Therefore, even if the collar portion 10 tries to move toward an opening 24 of the concave portion 18 for a ferrule, the collar portion is locked by the hook portion 28 for a ferrule and the movement is inhibited. Thus, in the plug-type optical connector 1, the ferrule 3 can be positioned by inserting into the plug housing 6 and moving.

    • The present invention relates to an optical connector and an optical connector assembling method allowing simplification of assembly, improvement of reliability, and lower prices. The optical connector comprises a connector plug for holding a coated optical fiber and a connector socket for holding a coated optical fiber. The connector plug has a fiber holding portion disposed in a plug housing, and a fiber inserting hole is provided in the fiber holding portion. A fiber deflection space for allowing deflection of the coated optical fiber, when the coated optical fibers are butted, is provided in the plug housing. The connector socket has a fiber holding portion disposed in a socket housing, and a fiber inserting hole is provided in the fiber holding portion. A fiber deflection space for allowing deflection of the coated optical fiber, when the coated optical fibers are butted, is provided in the socket housing.

    • [Problem] To provide a cable with a connector which can enhance simply and readily accuracy of the relative positions among plural connector units and does not cause connection failure, and a manufacturing method of the same.[Solving Means] In a cable with a connector, a hybrid connector 1 holding a plurality of connector units 2 to 4 in a common connector housing 5 is connected to at least one end of a hybrid cable 9. The connector housing 5 has a recess groove 18 for accommodating and holding therein a flange portion 15a to 17a of the connector unit 2 to 4. The recess groove has a clearance which enables positional adjustment of the connector unit in a direction orthogonal to an axial direction of connection of the connector unit. A thermosetting adhesive 19 is applied to the clearance, whereby the plurality of connector units are bonded and fixed to the connector housing with the predetermined relative positions and intervals.
