    • A forced air circulation system for an enclosed room with a floor, room walls, and a ceiling. The system includes at least one distributor unit positioned adjacent the base of at least one of the room walls. The distributor unit has an elongated center section, an inlet opening for receiving forced circulation air, and an elongated outlet passage of smaller cross-sectional area than that of the inlet opening. The system also provides a deflector unit positioned on the room wall substantially upwardly of the distributor outlet passage. The deflector unit has surface portions approximately parallel and perpendicular to the wall surface as well as a transition portion connecting these surfaces. Supply and return conduits are provided for directing forced air to the distributor unit inlet and withdrawing the circulated air from the room.

    • A method of installing a plurality of carrier elements within a building structure. The method includes the steps of determining the intended locations of various carriers within the structure, formulating a record of such locations, assigning to each carrier a location code indicative of the record of the location points comprising its intended path within the structure, storing and retaining the record of the location information in an accessible memory means, such as in a written record or in the memory of a computer, and reproducing at least portions of the codes on portions of each of the carrier elements. The carrier elements are then installed in the structure such that each carrier element follows its intended path, and each carrier element bears a unique code referable to a record that discloses its location path within the structure. Access may therefore be had to the carrier element at some or all points along its length, and the identity of any one carrier element may be determined by reference to the code. In those cases wherein the record of location points does not uniquely identify the carrier element, a separate identifying code element may be used. The carrier may carry electrical or optical signals, or may comprise pneumatic, vacuum or hydraulic lines.

    • A work station for supplying conditioned air and electrical conductors to the vicinity of a worker, for withdrawing return air from the space near the worker and for seating the worker and positioning his/her equipment. The work station includes a services distributor with vertically extending but separated passageways dedicated exclusively to supply air, return air and electrical wiring. A portion of the structure contains adjustable support arms for positioning equipment to be used by the workers; the seat is positioned adjacent the service distributor. Communication spaces are provided at spaced apart points whereby the services may leave or enter their vertically extending spaces and travel generally horizontally to those areas in which the services needed or are to be used. The apparatus preferably, but not necessarily, includes a task lighting that illuminates the area surrounding the worker and/or the equipment positioned by the support arms.

    • A method of identifying and installing a plurality of electrical or other signal carriers, pipes, tubes or the like within a building structure. The method includes the steps of determining the paths along which the various carriers are to be laid out within the structure, formulating a retrievable record of such paths, storing and retaining the retrievable record of such location information in an accessible computer memory or the like, and assigning a unique identifying expression to each of the carriers. The unique identifying expression is reproduced on spaced apart portions of each of the carriers, and the carriers are then installed according to plan. By using the unique identifying expression to access the computer memory, the location of all points along each carrier can be determined.
