    • Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided which can identify and provide local variations in regions of similarity among two or more data sets. These data sets may be represented as sequences such as, e.g., genomic sequences or words in a text. The local variations in similarity levels can be provided by selecting an initial prior distribution relating the data sets, organizing the first data set into windows and the remaining data sets into blocks, using the priors to sample one or more sets of words from the first data set, computing a similarity curve from exact and inexact matches for these words and, if convergence of results is not achieved, computing a new set of priors and repeating the sampling and computation of similarity curves. The computations can be performed using an amount of computational time that is linearly proportional to the size of the data sets.

    • A method of amplifying an HCV nucleic acid in an HCV infected sample comprises amplifying a segment of a DNA template that is complementary to a genome of HCV RNA from the sample by a two-stage PCR, wherein a first stage PCR employs a first outer primer and a second outer primer, and a second stage PCR employs a first inner primer and a second inner primer. The nucleotide sequence of the first outer primer comprises a nucleotide sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 2; or SEQ ID NO:9, wherein optionally 1, 2 or 3 nucleotides are other nucleotides than those of SEQ ID NO: 9. The nucleotide sequence of the second outer primer comprises a nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 3 or 4; or a nucleotide sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO: 10 or 11, wherein optionally 1, 2 or 3 nucleotides are other nucleotides than those of SEQ ID NO: 10 and 11.     • Disclosed are approaches for automatically forming a wireless connection for a computing device. In one embodiment, a method can include: determining that a first wireless connection for a computing device has been lost; receiving a browser indication from a browser running on the computing device that a second wireless connection is desired for the computing device; providing, in response to the browser indication, an automatic connection indication to a user of the computing device via a user interface; receiving an acceptance indication from the user interface in response to the automatic connection indication; and establishing the second wireless connection for the computing device in response to the acceptance indication from the user interface.
