摘要： A cable end connector and the method of making the same are disclosed. The connector includes a first contact module, a second contact module, a central grounding unit, a grounding means, and a shielding shell electrically connecting with the grounding means. The first contact module includes first contacts and a first insulator retaining the first contacts. The first insulator has a first tongue section and a first assembling section. The second contact module includes second contacts and a second insulator retaining the second contacts. The second insulator has a second tongue section and a second assembling section. The shielding shell has a front shell and a rear shell partially overlapped on the front shell. The front shell substantially encloses the first and the second tongue sections of the first and the second contact modules, the central grounding unit and the grounding means. The rear shell covers the first and the second assembling sections of the first and the second contact modules.

摘要： A power connector for electrically connecting with a complementary connector includes an insulating housing defining a number of channels and a number of pairs of power contacts received in corresponding channels. Each pair of power contacts has a pair of oppositely arranged two power contacts. Each power contact is provided with a retaining portion fixed within the channel, a contacting portion extending from one end of the retaining portion and a tail portion extending from the other end of the retaining portion. The contacting portion is formed with a first contacting finger and a second contacting finger, which are side-by-side positioned. The first contacting finger defines a first contacting area and the second contacting finger defines a second contacting area. The first and the second contacting areas are extending within a same plane.

The metallic inner shell includes at least two pieces which are separately made and fixed to the insulative housing. The metallic inner shell and the metallic outer shell are in mechanical contact with each other in order to achieve a relative larger grounding area.

The spacer includes a horizontal portion and a vertical portion perpendicular to the horizontal portion. The horizontal portion defines a slot through which the contacts extend. The vertical portion includes an inner wall, an outer wall and a channel extending through the inner wall and the outer wall. The outer wall defines a recess opening in communication with the channel. When the contacts are associated with the spacer, the contacts are partly exposed to the recess opening via the channel for robust heat dissipation.
