摘要： Several methods and systems for chroma residual data prediction for encoding blocks corresponding to video data are disclosed. In an embodiment, at least one coefficient correlating reconstructed luma residual samples and corresponding reconstructed chroma residual samples is computed for one or more encoded blocks of video data. Predicted chroma residual samples are generated for encoding a block of video data based on corresponding reconstructed luma residual samples and the at least one coefficient.

摘要： A method includes determining whether spatial intra prediction of pixels of a macroblock of a video frame is to be performed at a macroblock level or a sub-macroblock level. The method also includes suppressing a horizontal mode or a vertical mode of spatial intra prediction of pixels of the macroblock at the macroblock level or the sub-macroblock level based on the determination when spatial intra prediction of pixels of the immediate previous macroblock is at the sub-macroblock level. When the spatial intra prediction of the pixels of the macroblock is at the macroblock level, the horizontal mode or the vertical mode is suppressed for the entire macroblock. When the spatial intra prediction of the pixels of the macroblock is at the sub-macroblock level, the horizontal mode or the vertical mode is suppressed for a corresponding first row or a first column of blocks of pixels of the macroblock.

The encoder includes a mode decision processor that is arranged to determine whether the mode of a first pixel block in a first row is an “intra-mode” or an “inter-mode.” The encoder also includes a mode estimation processor that is arranged to estimate the mode of a left pixel block in a second row that is received after the first row in response to the determined mode of the first pixel block in the first row. The encoder also includes a pixel block processor that is arranged to process a pixel block in the second row that is to the right of the left pixel block in response to the estimated mode of the left pixel block.
