    • A technique for managing activity states of at least two subscriptions in a terminal device is described. A method implementation of this technique performed in the terminal device comprises the steps of monitoring whether a first subscription is to transit or has transit from a first active state to a second active state while at least one second subscription is in a detached state, wherein the second active state is associated with a lower terminal activity than the first active state, if the result of the monitoring step is affirmative, waiting for a predetermined period of time, upon elapse of the predetermined period of time, if the first subscription is still in the second active state, triggering a transition of the first subscription from the second active state to an inactive state and initiating for the at least one second subscription a transition from a detached state to an inactive state.

    • A radio network controller is operable in both a unicast signaling mode and a bi-cast signaling mode. In unicast signaling mode, the radio network controller is operable to send radio resource control signals to a mobile station through a serving cell. The radio network controller is operable to go into bi-cast signaling mode during a hard handover. In the bi-cast signaling mode, the radio network controller is operable to send radio resource control messages to the mobile station through both the current serving cell and a target cell. The mobile station is configured to listen to both the current serving cell and the target cell for radio resource control messages. User data, however, is transmitted only from the current serving cell to the mobile station.

    • A method of scheduling wireless data transmissions between a mobile terminal and a base station using multiple system carrier signals is disclosed. The method comprises receiving (101) in the mobile terminal information from the base station indicating available system carriers and transmitting from the mobile terminal information indicating the terminal's capability to handle non-contiguous system carriers; detecting (102) at least one dynamic parameter indicative of the terminal's current capability to handle non-contiguous system carriers; determining (103) from the dynamic parameter whether a situation has occurred in which the terminal's capability to handle non-contiguous system carriers has changed; transmitting (104), in such case, a connection release request to the base station; and transmitting (105) a connection setup request and information indicating the terminal's changed capability to handle non-contiguous system carriers to the base station. Thus system carriers that can be handled by the terminal in the present situation can be allocated.

    • A adaptive method implemented by a mobile station improves the likelihood of detecting control messages transmitted to the mobile station in band on a shared downlink traffic channel. When the mobile station expects a control message to be transmitted on the shared downlink traffic channel, the mobile station may adapt the receiver configuration and/or receiver parameters to reduce a likelihood of missed detection of control messages. In one embodiment, the mobile station is configured to adjust a correlation threshold used for said scheduled transmission detection to reduce the likelihood of a missed detection.
