摘要： A digital rights management method includes: storing information on a rights object in a memory area, wherein the rights object has been transferred from a first device to a second device, and wherein the rights object includes permissions linked to a digital media object; receiving a rights object at the first device; and accessing the memory area to check whether information on the received rights object is stored in the memory area and to set up the received rights object on the first device in case the information on the received rights object is not stored in the memory area, and to reject the received rights object in case the information on the received rights object is stored in the memory area.

摘要： A common backup format of a backup rights object according to embodiments of the present invention has the following features: License information that is not critical for cryptographic security of the rights object is kept in “plain text” with a well defined syntax in a first data container, license information that is critical for cryptographic security of the rights object is stored in cryptographically protected form that is specific for the originating device to which the rights object is bound to in a second data container, and the rights object is cryptographically signed by the originating device such that it may not be manipulated. The signature is stored in a third data container.
