    • A double-layer switchable stereo liquid crystal display includes a timing controller, a microprocessor, a backlight module, a first liquid crystal panel, a controller, and a second liquid crystal panel. The timing controller receives an image signal and generates a left/right eye signal and a two-dimensional/three-dimensional control signal. The microprocessor outputs the image signal, and generates a control signal and a backlight control signal according to output timing of the image signal. The first liquid crystal panel receives and displays the image signal. The controller outputs a voltage control signal according to the control signal. The second liquid crystal panel rotates liquid crystal within the second liquid crystal panel according to the voltage control signal. A period for the second liquid crystal panel rotating the liquid crystal to a second angle is longer than a period for the second liquid crystal panel rotating the liquid crystal to a first angle.

The 3D image display device includes a backlight module; a first linear polaroid disposed in front of the backlight module to polarize the light from the backlight module; a first liquid crystal layer disposed in front of the first linear polaroid; a second linear polaroid disposed in front of the first liquid crystal layer, the second linear polaroid having a determined polarizing angle to polarize image signals; a second liquid crystal layer disposed in front of the second linear polaroid to switch a linear polarization orientation of image signals; and a retarding layer disposed in front of the second liquid crystal layer to transform the linear polarization orientation into a circular polarization orientation.

    • A 3D image display system includes a display equipment and a shutter glasses. The display equipment includes an LCD module. The LCD module has a linear polarizing unit and is able to generate an image light from the linear polarizing unit. The shutter glasses include two liquid crystal optical units, at least one linear polarizing unit, and at least one polarizing optical element. The linear polarizing unit is disposed between the polarizing optical element and the liquid crystal optical units. The image light passes through the polarizing optical element, the linear polarizing unit, and one of the liquid crystal optical units in sequence. When the image light passes through one of the liquid crystal optical units, the other liquid crystal optical unit blocks the image light.

    • The present invention provides a 3D image signal controlling method. The method comprises inputting a left eye image into the first liquid crystal layer, turning off the backlight module and switching gray levels of the second liquid crystal layer to a minimum gray level during (4N−3)th time interval, wherein N is natural number; stopping inputting the left eye image, turning on the backlight module and remaining the gray levels of the second liquid crystal layer as the minimum gray level during (4N−2)th time interval; inputting a right eye image into the first liquid crystal layer, turning off the backlight module and switching the gray levels of the second liquid crystal layer as a maximum gray level during (4N−1)th time interval; and stopping inputting the right eye image, turning on the backlight module and remaining the gray levels of the second liquid crystal layer as the maximum gray level during (4N)th time interval.
