摘要： A USB dock (32) which includes a USB data hub (35) that does not provide negotiated power levels to devices connected to the USB dock (32), is connected to a host device (31) via a USB connection and to a peripheral device (33) via a USB connection and a power connection. The USB dock (32) includes a power source (37) connected to the power connection and a power controller (36) connected to the USB data hub (35), the power source (37) and the peripheral device (33). The power controller (36) receives instructions from the host device (31) to control the power source (37) to provide power to the peripheral device (33), communicates with the peripheral device (33) to determine parameters for power to be provided to the peripheral device (33), and controls the power source (37) to provide power at one of a plurality of different power levels to the peripheral device (33) via the power connection based on the instructions from the host device (31) and the determined parameters.

The method involves determining an identifier of each peripheral device and receiving (35) a user identification identifying a particular peripheral device. The user identification is then associated (36) with the identifier of the particular peripheral device, and data is sent to the particular peripheral device based on the identifier associated with the user identification. The user identification comprises a user gesture which is captured as an input image, which is processed to determine which particular peripheral device the user gesture is gesturing towards and associating the user gesture with the identifier of the particular peripheral device. Alternatively the user identification may be directly input by a user on a display showing either recognised elements that have been associated with identifiers of the peripheral devices, or a listing of available peripheral devices.

The first direction is determined based on an initial required data transmission capacity in each direction between the first and second devices. Thereafter, depending on required capacity in the different directions, a selection is made which of the signal links should change their direction of transmission from the first direction to a second direction and a redirection signal is sent to each of the selected signal links to cause the change in direction of transmission.

摘要： An apparatus for co-ordinating display data sent to a display device includes two or more panels or sub-displays together forming a single display screen for displaying at least one complete image. Each display panel has a display input for receiving display data of part of the complete image from a corresponding display output of a display control device. The display control device receives, from a host device, packets of display data destined for one of the display panels. The display control device directs the packets to one or more processors in the display control device for processing and storing the display data in a respective buffer according to which respective display panel the display data is destined for. The processed display data is output from the buffers at a synchronized time to the display output corresponding to the respective display panel for which the display data is destined.

The access point (21) transmits the network address of the display controller (25) to the mobile device (11) over the USB connection in response to a request for the network address of the display controller (25) from the mobile device (11), thereby allowing the mobile device (11) to transmit at least video data over the local area wireless network connection addressed to the display controller (25) using the network address of the display controller (25) without using the USB connection.
