    • An RFID enabled mobile device is configured to provide a secure release of RFID information. The RFID enabled mobile device, such as an RFID enabled cellular telephone, includes a set of sensors, such as a camera, one or more accelerometers, a wireless transceiver configured to send and receive data with an Internet device, and a global positioning system (GPS) receiver. The RFID enabled mobile device utilizes sensor attributes or information from one or more sensor of the set of sensors and, based upon the sensor attributes, controls the release of RFID information and/or other authentication data to an RFID interrogation system. In essence, the RFID enabled mobile device leverages from the conventional sensors typically incorporated as part of the mobile device and uses contextual data from its sensors and communication partners to make security decisions regarding the release of RFID information.

    • Methods and apparatus are disclosed for use in an RFID system comprising a plurality of RFID devices and at least one reader which communicates with one or more of the devices. In accordance with an aspect of the invention, identifiers transmitted by the RFID devices are received by the reader. The system determines a classification of at least one of the received identifiers, and implements a privacy policy for data associated with one or more of the received identifiers based at least in part on the determined classification. For example, the given RFID device may be configurable into at least a first state indicative of a first classification, such as a private classification, and a second state indicative of a second classification, such as a public classification. The reader may alter a type of query that it issues based at least in part on the determined classification. Alternatively or additionally, response by the given RFID device to a query received from the reader may be conditioned on the state of the RFID device. The reader may be configured, dynamically or otherwise, so as to issue queries causing such selective responses by the RFID devices.

    • A dispenser that represents the next generation of manually activated fluid dispensers found in homes at kitchen and bathroom counter tops that dispense soap, creams, and lotions. Shown in FIG. 1, the invention uses a diaphragm 105 positioned at the bottle bottom 109 of a bottle 101 filled with fluid (not shown) that is manually activated to push fluid through a tube 107, spout 111, and check nozzle 112 for the following advantages: much less expensive with fewer simpler parts, no drying of fluid in the spout 111, no dripping, and is capable of dispensing the last ounce of fluid left in the bottle. The diaphragm 105 has a unique feature that allows fluid to be pushed through the tube/spout/nozzle (107/111/112) and refill with fluid as the diaphragm is compressed and released respectively. This dispenser is activated by pushing down on a thumb saddle 113 attached to the spout 111 and tube 107. Detail A shows how the diaphragm is pinned 118 to the bottle bottom 109 that greatly relaxes the tolerances of the dispenser parts. Detail B shows a locking mechanism using features 121 and 122 for travel that is incorporated into the dispenser without any additional parts. This pump system in this dispenser is called the Blister Pump 104.
